Twofer Stars

I am the first to admit that I find Darnell's Twofer challenge just that... a challenge. Often I can make a reasonable job of one card, but when it comes to a second one, it's frequently totally lacking in imagination and often the effect looks contrived... as if I was trying too hard.  Reminds me of a phrase from my youth... try hard, fail easy!
Anyway here is my contribution for the Twofer Star Challenge

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the first card, which is actually a similar one in a different colourway to one I had already made.

For the second one I chose to make a baby congratulations card using a die I ordered from France. It's from a set of four dear little dies with baby related images. The tiny star aperture from this little die was used for some of the stars flying out from the envelopes in the first card.
It's another dreary day outside.. perfect for crafting!
Take care and stay safe!

  1. I'm pretty chuffed that I came up with a challenge that challenges one of my mentors, Chrissie! I can see you smiling! Your CASlicious cards are both so sweet and so crisp. I love how you used several tiny hearts (and other delights) flying out of the envelopes on one card and a negative single star on the other. I also love the colors and texture on both! Thank you for playing in TCC #33! Keep safe and well! Hugs, Darnell

  2. You’re not the only one to find it a challenge Chrissie! It’s taken me all month to decide what to do, and I’m not short of stars to use. Must get it on the blog today! Hope your both keeping safe and well. xx

  3. Those tiny envelopes bursting with little stars and the touch of Christmas foliage are absolutely delightful, Chrissie ... and how sweet and understated is your baby card ... the imagery of the single star in the cloud is perfect ... and the shimmery background adds such pizazz! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  4. I can definitely empathise Chrissie - it's a massive challenge for me too! You smashed it this month anyway. Those mini envelopes are gorgeous and I love the postage stamp frame you added. The second card is my favourite - it's just perfect in its simplicity. Vicky x
