Back to School

Here's a lovely image from Mo's Digital pencil for the Creative Card Crew's 'Back to school' challenge this week, which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.
The paper is from Cuddly Buddly and the embossing is from Papermania... I really like this folder.
I used the Promarker which is the predominant shade in mum's dress, for colouring the papers which I used for the framing elements in this card. The ribbon was also coloured with this same pen. The sentiment was made on the computer. The corners are from a square Cuttlebug die, cut diagonally and the tag is also Cuttlebug.
Today we may go out to do a little shopping... I want to get the Tony Ross story 'I want my potty' for my granddaughter... you never know it may just help!

Ruby for July

For the challenge this week at One Stop Cards and Crafts, Shelley has chosen the theme of Birthstones. I was born in July and have the ruby as my birthstone, but in fact I have always had a preference for sapphires... and diamonds of course!
For this card I chose to go with the red for rubies and coloured this sweet image from Mo Manning with my Copics. Luckily, there are plenty of reds in the Ciao set but I find that there is a shortage of pale powdery blues... I don't know what other people find?!... But I digress.
The papers and sentiment are Patchwork, Red from Cuddly Buddly. Kim had recently released some sets of sentiments as digis, including this one, which are very useful as they can be sized to fit whatever project you are doing. The original size does fit neatly into Nesties however!
Creative Inspirations have the challenge to make a Card for a child, and Dare U 2 Digi Stamp have chosen One for the boys this week, whereas at C.R.A.F.T challenge the theme is birthdays, so this is for those challenges too.

Should I or Shouldn't I?

What a tempting prospect!
Hot chocolate and a cake!
New Year's resolutions are going to be sorely tried with this kind of image around. It's from Mo's Digital Pencil and the card is for a bunch of challenges.
Cute Card Thursday - All New (I downloaded this digi image yesterday)
Simon Says Challenge - Hot Chocolate
Quixotic Challenge - Hot Chocolate
ABC Challenge L-Layering
3 Clovers - New Year's Resolutions
CPS 148 - Sketch
My Time to Craft - Blue & Brown (I know I'm on the DT of MTTC and have already submitted my sample card, but as this card also fitted with this week's challenge I thought I'd include this too)

The sun is shining today, I wonder how long the snow will last?

This wonderful, inviting image is from Mo's Digital Pencil, which I coloured with Copics. The polka dot paper is from Pink Petticoat and the wine coloured cardstock has been sitting in my drawer for a long time... I knew it would come in handy sometime!
I made the sentiment on the computer, which I cut out with a Nestie and mounted on a Cuttlebug tag.
The dazzle is in fact Glamour Dust and the jewels have been twinkled with a little red glitter.

ABC Challenge, Cards & Things & Copic Creations

Happy New Year Everyone!
At last another card!
This super image from Mo's Digital Pencil is for the ABC Challenge K for Kissing and I have also incorporated the colours from Cards and Things Challenge, which this time around is Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue and Always Artichoke. I'm not sure how close the colours which I have used are, but I tried. Copic Creations this week require the colouring of 'fur'. This is my attempt... although shaded, it doesn't look particularly furry!
The image is coloured with Copics and the stripy paper is Pink Petticoat. The blue circle was heat embossed with a Hero Arts flower stamp. The leaves are from a Leonie EM punch.
We are gradually getting used to being just the two of us in the house and are missing Daisy our granddaughter enormously! We'll have to take a trip to Bath very soon I think!

My first easel card

I have wanted to make one of these cards for some time and with the stimulus of the challenge from Mo's Digital Pencil to make a card with interesting folds, I thought this was my opportunity. The image is one of Mo's and I think it is simply adorable, it reminds me of my granddaughter Daisy last winter!
I have combined this with a few other challenges.
'Snowflakes' from the Creative Card Crew
Orange + one other colour from Digital Tuesday
Penny Black ' White on White' (apart from the image) The sentiment is my Penny Black element in this card.
Daring Cardmakers 'Get Punchy with it' - to use our latest punch acquisition. Nearly all these snowflake punches are new me this season.
At Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog, the challenge is entitled 'All that Sparkles'. The twinkle on this card was created with Glamour Dust.
The Sketch is from Create4fun, (however I did cheat with the shape of the image frame, I printed the image too close to the edge of the cardstock and so couldn't manage to cut out an oval!)
My knee is still giving me gyp and the codeine tablets prescribed by the doctor say 'Avoid Alcohol' so sadly no G&T for me today!
Haven't quite got the measure of this little camera, but hopefully my pics will improve soon!

Just love these Copics

I found this image, entitled Patience, over at Mo's Digital Pencil (see the link on my sidebar) and couldn't resist buying it. I have a little granddaughter about this age, maybe it's a good job they don't have a cat.
The sketch is from Mojo Monday and for 365 Cards for Tuesday's Trio today there must be a pearl, a tag and a ribbon.
The papers are from Pink Petticoat and the tag and lettering are Cuttlebug.
I coloured this little lady with my new Copics and I'm still finding out what goes well with what.
My lovely friend Victoria sent me a blank Copics Chart for me to fill in the colours I have. It is SO useful, I would recommend any newbie to Copics like me to use one.
