Merci

Some time ago I was selected as Chic of the Week for a challenge at Just US Girls. With that accolade comes the chance of being selected to be their Guest Designer for a month and that honour has also been bestowed on me and here is my first contribution for the month of July!

GUEST DESIGNER Just US Girls

For the script element on my card I used a really old stamp from  Hero Arts which is written in old French script. To continue the French theme, I used a couple of fab dies from Simply Graphic, a French company introduced to me by one of JUG'S fabulous designers... Cecile. Her work is totally inspirational.. and she has been the reason that I've found myself spending a considerable number of Euros on their fabulous merchandise.
If anyone would like to join in with this fab challenge follow the link to Just US Girls!

Noel

I am really loving the dies I purchased from Simply Graphic and these gift dies are part of yet another set. The fourth gift is a circle and I wasn't quite sure where I could have placed that one.  The sentiment is from a different company and for the life of me I can't remember which one!
I guess that these parcels could be used for any occasion when gifts are given, but I thought that the addition of a tiny sprig of holly added to the seasonal nature!
The front parcel was popped onto dimensional pads and the sentiment stacked 4 times with the 'l' of the lowest layer removed so that it sat evenly over the edge of the tall parcel.

Merci

Here is another card playing around with my new dies from Simply Graphic. Somehow this didn't workout quite as effectively as I had hoped. I found the juxtaposition of the leaves quite tricky to arrange. I would lay out the pieces until I found an arrangement I liked but by the time I had picked up the pieces to add the adhesives, I couldn't seem to find exactly where I had previously put the leaves.
I made this with two challenges in mind.
Just Us Girls - No Stamping and the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches

I found the no stamping bit rather tricky when it came to colouring the leaves. I wanted to add some dots to add interest, for which I would normally use a splatter stamp, so to get around this, I cut a stencil with Sizzix snowstorm die and added the contrast colours through that. They looked a little stark, so as they were distress inks, I spritzed them with water and the colour improved.
For the front panel, firstly I embossed a piece of card with a Cuttlebug folder and then cut it into two, leaving a gap between the pieces.
The dies are from Simply Graphic.

I have the sexiest legs ever...

Yesterday I wrote a post submitting two cards to various challenges, adding all the badges and links only to find that Blogger could neither publish nor save it. I thought it had been saved as a draft and I gaily came out of the page only to discover that there was no trace of it! SO I went outside and sat in the garden and enjoyed the fine weather for a while!
Today I thought I would try again!
Actually I think that one of the challenges I was entering has finished, but hey ho there are actual things to worry about in the world at the moment... missing blog posts are certainly not included in that list!
This card was made with the challenge at AAA Cards in mind.

I know that chickens aren't the greatest of fliers but they can flap their way up into low branches and up onto their roosts.
As a chicken belongs to the animal kingdom I thought I would also add it to Addicted to CAS

The sentiment reads 'I have the sexiest legs ever!' which I printed from the computer. The stamp is from Artemio and coloured with alcohol markers.

Mod Squad - Birds

I missed the sketch deadline for this card but am entering it into the challenge at Color Throwdown.

Actually this colour combo is very familiar to me as they were the colours of my college scarf!

The plank stamp is from IO, the cat die from Simply Graphics (France) and the sentiment form Avery Elle. I think a lot of people are thinking about that at this time!
I have just discovered that I have not only missed the sketch challenge for this card but the colour one too!
Hope you like it anyway!
