If you were confused by the title of this post, I must admit that for a while so was I!

I am continuing my stint as Guest Designer with Stamps & Fun = Creativity, a German blog challenge and the challenge this time is ... what it says at the top!!!

Actually it means Candy Packaging! Inside my box are some meringues!

To make the box I began by printing a sheet of card with a design by Pink Petticoat. This is the largest size box I could manage with enough depth to contain the meringues. I used a Crafter's Companion scoring board to do the scoring. I cut a hole from the middle of the top of the box, lined it with acetate and then cut a scalloped edge to surround the aperture. I decided to cut one complete small flower from the waste of the A4 sheet.

I don't often make non card items, but now and again I do make boxes for cards if they are for a really special occasion and have 3D embellishments!

They are quite fun to do!

Halloween Treats

At One Stop Card and Crafts the theme this week is Halloween, which is sponsored by Tiffany Doodles and from whence these cute images come.
My hubby has a real taste for Cadbury's chocolate éclairs, so I thought I'd make him a little surprise!
The colouring is a little strange for an owl, but is Halloweeny and does match the sweets.
 The box was made with a template for a milk carton (2inch cube), which I made from card which I had printed with FSS purple pinstripe digi paper. After I had cut out the shape, I then sliced it through the middle, and used my Fiskars Threading Water  border punch to add the fancy edges. I chose this one because the pattern just fitted the dimensions of the box. I then cut and scored some acetate to fit inside to make a window and to make the box taller.
I had a few probs trying to find an adhesive which didn't show through the acetate (my double sided tape looked dreadful). In the end, after throwing away a couple of pieces I just had an overlap and only stuck the acetate to the card and not to itself... if you see what I mean.
Any suggestions for an invisible adhesive for acetate?

A template challenge

I did it again!

I left a piece of card in the printer and when I wanted to print a piece of backing paper, I printed the card instead.

This piece has sat in the drawer waiting for a challenge which would require a piece of patterned card and Just Us Girls gave me the opportunity today!

The challenge is to use a template and I chose to make this Trapezoid Box.

The digi paper is from Cuddly Buddly and I had a perfectly matching piece of plain card to make the flowers with my Snellen Punch and emboss duo.

The leaves are from a Leonie Em punch.

I decided to add the dragonfly charm onto the organza ribbon to give a little added pizzaz and with its addition, the project became eligible for the Alphabet challenge of D - for Dragonfly.

It's a pretty little box isn't it, the pattern and colour are so delicate. The paper is called Fairy Fun and the shade is Willow.

A couple of splat centres and some adhesive pearls complete the flowers.

Great Wedding Day

Yesterday was the wedding of my son's friend, for whom I made all the stationery as our wedding gift to the couple.

This was my DT contribution to the challenge of 'Anything but a card' at One Stop Cards and Crafts this week. Do come and join in the fun!

As a little surprise, I made a couple of boxes for the bride and groom which I filled with sweeties and popped beside their namecards on the top table.

Here you can see some of the favour tags, the menu and what the table numbers looked like!As you can see this was the table plan.
We all had a fabulous time and my son's speech as Best Man, which he'd been really worried about, went down really well!
SO ALL good!This is a piccy of my husband and I at the wedding.

A bit of a change

This box came about slightly by accident.
I had intended printing a piece of backing paper, but had inadvertently left a piece of card in the printer and so I set about making a project with it rather than simply using it as a rather thick DP!

The download is from Pollycraft from a set called Cloudy Pearl. They are all fabulous papers.

After making the box, I embellished it with some Nellie's Choice Flowers made from a Punch and Emboss set, and finished with punched splat centres and adhesive pearls.

The butterfly digi image is by Chris Dark, the Sketching Stamper (link on my sidebar), coloured with Copics. The hole in the centre of the box was made with an X Cut circle cutter as I discovered that the box lid was to wide to go through my Cuttlebug. I used a Stampin' Up punch to add the decoration around the side of the box.
It is for a bunch of challenges.

Just Us Girls -Template Challenge

Just Us Girls challenge, has the task of using a template this week. This is something that I have done very little of and so it really was a challenge for me.

I printed a piece of card with the Cuddly Buddly Fairy Fun digi paper in Peach and then popped it back into the printer to print the template on the back!

The plain paper around the bottom of the box is edged with my SU eyelet border punch, and the ribbon adhered with double-sided tape. I made the bow with my bow maker.

The flowers on the heart at the top were made from a Woodware punch.

I'm sorry the pic is a bit wishy washy, but it is a very delicate pink!

With a bit of luck I'm off to the Craft Show at Farnborough today... if I can find it!
