Gelatos

Here is another card using Gelatos for colouring. I began by rubbing a few colours of Gelatos onto a piece of card, blending them together with my finger, I added a spritz of water and a few grains of Perfect Pearls (although some of my Gelatos are in fact pearlised) to give a lovely sheen.
I then cut the butterfly (from Concord & 9th) from this coloured card and another from the front panel of my card. I then inlaid the die cut pieces together and twinkled the centre parts with Glamour dust.
The sentiment was stamped using a couple of colours of ink to match with the colours of the Gelatos. This is easy to do when using a MISTI of course, as each imprint is in exactly the same spot.
It's another contribution for the challenge at CAS Mix Up. A few tiny gems added a butterfly trail.

This is another card for the Casology challenge with a Marine theme. The little whales is from Stampin' Up and the sentiment a die cut from Creative Dies, Craft Essentials. The waves were cut with a die from CUTplorations.

New Technique Old Stash

When I saw the challenge at CAS Mix up, bells began to ring as I seemed to think I may have had some Gelatos. I rummaged to find a set, bought a long time ago and hardly touched. After spending a little time on You Tube trying to find out what to do with them, this is the card I came up with (after several abortive efforts.).
I chose to use a colour block technique and overstamped a section of the card with some Stampin' Up stamps which I've had for probably longer than I've had the Gelatos. A Sizzix die cut leaf (also rubbed with gold Gelato) and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted completed the card. I did use a little black Gelato around the edge of the rectangle, pulling the colour in with my finger. I fixed the panel with a squirt or two of hairspray.

Happy nautical birthday

Here is a nautical themed birthday card inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches
It's simply a bunch of die cuts and a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers.
I thought that the embossing folder from Lifestyle crafts matched the scrap of DP perfectly.
The anchor and chain dies are from Creative Time Dies
CASology's theme this time is Marine, so it's for that too.

A couple more cards

Here is a simple card made for the challenge at Colours and Sketches.
When I saw the design I immediately thought of this digi image which was lurking somewhere in the depths of my computer. As it has been there for quite sometime I really don't remember its origin. It was simply coloured with Promarkers, cut out and mounted on 3D pads. The sentiment is from a stamp set from Creative Stamps.

This one is for the CAS Christmas Challenge. It couldn't be much simpler! Again this is a digi image but when filed away on my computer ages ago, I failed to add a source to it, so if anyone recognises it I should be pleased to know its source. He was gently shaded and twinkled with Glamour Dust.
The sentiment is from Altenew which I believe was a freebie with a mag. The embossing on the background is from  a Sheena Douglass folder.

Gold

Every year I think that I will get lots of cards ready for Christmas so that I don't have a marathon, last minute session, trying to get sufficient cards made to send to friends and family. However what I intend and what actually happens are two different things. This year I will try to be different. Here is one card for the Christmas box.... it's for the GOLD theme at Addicted to CAS.
The Memory Box bauble die is inlaid and the ball itself cut from plain white card and twinkled with gold Glamour Dust. Sadly I don't recall the make of the sentiment die.

One Layer

I haven't really got into the groove as far as cardmaking is concerned since my return from Vietnam and Cambodia. We had an amazing time and would thoroughly recommend this holiday!
Anyway firstly here is the DT card for this month's CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers, where the theme is One Layer.
For my card this time I decided to do a partial die cut. I stamped the HLS butterfly so that the top of it would reach to the top of my usual tent fold card dimensions. I then cut just around the top of the butterfly by placing the die partly over the edge of the cutting plates. The part not between the plates obviously did not get cut.I then folded the card to the edge of the cuts.
The HLS sentiment was stamped using my MISTI and the image coloured with watercolour pencils and a water brush and lightly twinkled with Glamour Dust. I did add a few tiny tiny gems, but I think that it could still be considered one layer.
