I succumbed and bought this fabulous Memory Box die called Chloe Stem, there's something about this style of organic image that I really love!
The background is made from a spot of emboss resist using some fabulous Paisley stamps which I believe I picked up at the NEC in a clearance box....Plus a variety of other small stamps which I used to overstamp in the darker shades of yellow Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
More emboss resist here and details of this one are on the LIM blog. I do so enjoy making this type of card.
This one is a bit of fun... a spinner card of a tumbling duck!
I did a tutorial of how to make a spinner card some time ago and you can see it here.
My grandchildren have been with us for a couple of days and my three year old granddaughter wanted to make some cards ... here she is busy at my desk... she made and COLOURED the card with the turtle... she stamped the sentiment herself and stuck the image on the card.
I coloured the turtle on the desk... hers is almost as good... I shall have to watch out!
She can write her name by herself and is learning the correct route around all the letters!
Well done Daisy!
DO have a great week everyone!
Gorgeous cards Chrissie I love the frame one in particular xx Jan

ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie, great inspiration, elegant, sophiscated and fun. I love them all. Isn't it just the best thing when our grands want to play with our crafts...well, most of the time anyway :)
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that came to my mind when I saw yellow was, "We all live in a yellow submarine". Alas, I don't have a sub. I shall have to see what else will fit. Back soon!

I do love visiting here Chrissie, your cards are such an inspiration. I love a bit of emboss/resist myself but I think your first card is my favourite this week. Those die cut seed heads look so effective on that paisley background. I bet your granddaughter loves coming to visit you too - what a lovely outlet for her creativity!
ReplyDeleteI have avoided that Memory Box die but the way you have used it with the paisley is just wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice of colour and I love your cheerful cards especially the duck!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards all three!
ReplyDeleteAnna-Karin
All 3 cards are lovely, Chrissie. Daisy is one talented little girl :)
ReplyDeleteThat memory box die is lovely and your cards are as brilliant as ever., that tumbling duck is great.
ReplyDeleteI think spinner cards are so cute, but have never taken the time to give it a try. I especially love the cute duck!! Love both the other cards...and I've given thought to purchasing that MB die, but then I think...I have a Cameo, I should be able to cut out anything I want! Your sponged inking always looks fabulous. BTW, I think you've hit on the idea all of us "grandmothers" eventually realize...we each have the smartest, cutest and advanced grandchildren on the planet! LOL! I know I sometimes tell my children that their children seem to be a lot more advanced for their ages than my children were at that age! And I do think that of children in general....must be the times we live in with all the electronic stuff. My 7 year old grandson knows almost as much as I do about computers! It's amazing! Your little Daisy is quite good at coloring!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Chrissie. Love the spinning duck! xx
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Chrissie, such beautiful tones of yellow and love the way you used the Chloe die :0)
ReplyDeleteGood to see your training the younger generations in the craft world :0)
