I think that Christmas cards are my absolute favourite kind of card to make, probably because they all get used, whereas some which I make for challenges, never quite have the appropriate recipient and so they sit in boxes forever... just waiting!
Here is a really simple card for the challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown
I was intrigued by the colour combo and set about looking through my stash for ideas. I came across this ridged grey card and so started from there. I wanted the white to be a snowflake and so I needed to add some rose gold. I cut a square and embossed it many times with a mix of Copper and Gold embossing powders, the finished colour IRL is really rather nice.
Hopefully the Covid restrictions should start to be eased as more and more people are vaccinated. I have heard that sometimes there is a reaction to the second dose even is the first was symptom free, I should be getting my second next month, so fingers crossed that all goes well!
Stay safe everyone.
Good luck for your second jab, Chrissie. I had my first just over a week ago and felt so poorly. I don't usually get reactions to the 'flu jabs, but this was very different. Hope you are symptom free with jab #2. Your card is a beauty and I love how you used the colour combo, Jo x

Your card is simply stunning Chrissie, and you created the perfect shade of rose gold, it looks beautiful. I think you were right to leave off the sentiment - the snowflake says it all.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with your 2nd jab - take plenty of rest and fluids, and look after yourself.
Thanks for joining us at 52CCT this week, Gill, DT
Such a beautiful and elegant card! I love how the enameled square makes the snowflake glow! The gray corrugated cardstock is just perfect as a background, and I think a sentiment would have upset the balance of the card. Thank you so much for playing along at 52CCT. Rosi x
