30th Birthday card

My daughter asked me to make a card for her friend's 30th birthday. The scary thing is that my daughter will be 30 later this year... she can't be that old, she's my baby, and I'm obviously not old enough to be her mother!
I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious and the colour theme of Black, White + one other from Allsorts. The Butterflies on the backing paper plus the little stamped one, together with the flowers make it eligible for the challenge 'Butterflies & Blooms' at the Secret Crafter this week. Actually I've just had another look at the card and nearly every butterfly on the DP has been obscured by some of the other elements... never mind!
Just Us Girls has the challenge 'Dry Embossing this week. The flowers were embossed after punching and the white backing paper has also had the treatment.
For the monthly challenge from Sir Stampalot, they have the theme 'Punch it'!
The paper is from a Paper Cellar pad and the embossing is Cuttlebug's Paisley folder.
I'm not sure which clear stamp set the chandelier comes from, I really should make a note of these things. The flowers were made from a couple of Nellie Snellen cut/emboss duo punch sets and the sentiment uses a font which I recently downloaded, I really think it's rather snazz.
Have a good day everyone!

  1. Chrissie, that is a beautiful card and I'm sure your daughters friend will love it.
I know how you feel, my BABY is 30 in 3 weeks time. How time flies. Pity we won't be able to help him celebrate but we will rectify that next month when we get back for the summer.

    Good luck with your challenges.

  19. Hi Chrissie

What a great card, a real feel of sophistication.

Can identify with the children growing up, comes as a shock sometimes when realism dawns. I keep teling myself I'm as old as I feel, but some mornings that feels like 110 !

Thanks for joining us at Stampalot Challenge and good luck.

  22. classy Card Chrissie.

I wanted to do a pic of a chandelier no so long ago - but had no idea how to team it up with anything... I thought i'd have to make reference to it in the sentiment - but you have demonstrated that its a great stand alone image.
