It seems that many challenges this week are reflecting Mother's Day.
In the UK we have our 'Mothering Sunday' in March. It began as the only day's holiday in the year for many young girls who worked in service as maids or whatever in large households. They were allowed to go home on this day to see their mothers. Times have changed, but the love for our mothers has not!
My mother died many years ago, but I made this card, thinking of her, I guess that's why I think it turned out so well.. had a bit of help there somehow!
I have linked this card to several Mother's Day Challenges, in memory of my dear old Mum. These are 365 Cards - Day65 , Our Creative Corner, Stamptacular #5 & CCEE Stampers.
I have also entered it for the Pink Elephant Challenge of Circles and Scallops and have used the sketch from the Creative Card Crew. A marathon number of Challenges!
I think I may have hacked the large flower embossing. I used the Stylised flowers embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the centre embossing, and then hand embossed around the edges of the petals, followed by a little inking.
The stunning papers are a free download from ShabbyPrincess. I think that the colours and designs are just gorgeous. The punches are Woodware and the circles are Nesties.
