2 Sketches 4 You & Day 185, 365 Cards, Feeling Blue
Today I needed to use three shades of blue for my card for the challenge 'Feeling Blue' from 365 Cards. I decided to combine it with this great sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You and There She Goes TSG18 where the challenge is to design a custom backing paper.
I stamped the mid-blue background paper with the damask stamp from Inkadinkado in Midnight Blue Stazon and then overprinted it with the crackle stamp from Crafty Individuals in gold.
The strip in the middle is stamped with a Hero Arts French Script stamp and the semi-circle has a little random background stamp in gold on the top.
I played around with a corner punch and made the decorated edge on the navy blue semi-circle. The ribbon is my first dip into my prize of goodies which I won from 365 Cards a couple of weeks ago! Yummy! Thanks Pam!
The sentiment which reads, 'In a friend you find your second self', is from Penny Black, I think it's rather true don't you!

Wow girl... you WORKED that blue! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWell Chrissie, I was thrilled with this card, it looks great on your piccy, but seeing it for real - it's just gorgeous! You have done a super job of overprinting the paper - I thought it was from a select luxury paper range when I received it. I would never have thought you could achieve this effect on plain coloured paper! All the stamps you have used fit perfectly together and the effect you have achieve 'playing around' with the corner punch is just brill - again I thought it was a circular punch. Bonus for me (hehe)is now I have the card to go by, I can have a go myself. Thank you sooooo much. Eileen x
