Senior moments

This is my card for the challenge this week at My Time to Craft.... something that completely slipped my mind until a short time ago! (Senior moment)
The theme is to use scallops, so I was playing around with my Nesties to try to make them fit this rather elongated shaped stamp from Stampin' Up.
After stamping I cut around one end of the image with a long (but not long enough) Nestie rectangle, running the die through almost to the end of the die, but not quite... and then winding back again.
I then took the die off the card and turned it around and placed the die around the other end of the image, lining up the die with the previous die-cuts.

I rolled it through the machine just far enough to meet where it had previously been cut and then wound it back again!
Here you can see that the die-cut is much longer than the original die!

I then repeated the process with the scalloped die, ensuring that the scallops were aligned when I cut the second half.
I like messing around with things like this!

Topiary Ted

Here is another card using a digi image from Cuddly Buddly. If you love the image but prefer rubber, that's available too. I like working with digis as they can be sized to suit your particular project.
The papers (Patchwork of Papers Yellow)are also downloads from CB and these are particularly useful as they are in colour sets, which makes mixing papers a breeze.
The frame is made using Martha Stewart Round the Page punches, and the daisies are from Cuttlebug's Hippie Chick Alphabet.
The sentiment is also Cuddly Buddly, mounted on Nesties.
Allsorts Challenge this week is entitles 'In Stitches'. If you zoom in you will see my faux stitching around the edge of the card. Stempeltraume has the challenge Yellow and flowers, this is for them too.

Cuddly Buddly meets Crafty Catz

Here is another image just released as a digi from Cuddly Buddly.
I have used it for my challenge card for Crafty Catz this week, where the criteria were to use red and green and a punch.
My red and green papers are digi downloads from CB and the punch used was Martha Stewart's Punch around the Page - Crown. The sentiment is from a CB rubber stamp.
Although it's not too obvious, the image is mounted on 3D pads on an oval embossed with a Cuttlebug Hearts embossing folder.
It's nearly time for pre-prandials, I'd better go downstairs and put in my order! G&T tonight I think!

Get Well Duckling!

A card for a few challenges.
Secret Crafter - Get Well
Totally Papercrafts - Distressing
Crazy 4 Challenges - 1 Ribbon, 2 Buttons or Brads, 3 Different Punches
Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturday Sketch - Sketch
This yummy image is from Penny Black... I intended doing a card for their challenge, but somehow got sidetracked. I gently distressed some of the edges of the card with a file. The sentiment is from MSE, mounted on Nesties. The border punch is from SU and the corners are from Cuttlebug. The paper on the lower half of the card is a digi download from Cuddly Buddly.

Tilda's Flowers

Today we have had a new front door fitted and I have been up and down the stairs to answer various queries from the fitters. It's not exactly as I requested, but it should be altered next week in order to to comply. Never once, when having replacement windows or doors has the job proceeded in a totally straightforward manner. Hey Ho!
We have had to have lessons in how to get into the house using the locking mechanism in this door. It's a trifle more complicated than the last one!
On to crafting... this card is for a few challenges.
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Sugar and spice and all things nice
Paper Cutz - 3 Patterned papers
Cute Card Thursday - Monomania (shades of blue... apart from her hair)
Crafty Creations - Paper piecing (her jeans)
Digital Tuesday -Blue & White +1 (the papers are digi downloads)
Just Magnolia - Punch it out (flowers & word window)
Paperplay Challenge - Shiny Happy People ( the wings are glittery)
Stamp Something - Stitching (faux)
The papers are a mix of Pink Petticoat and Cuddly Buddly, with the denim paper being a free download from the Canon Scrapbook site.
The Magnolia image is mounted on a Nestie Label (4) and the fancy corners are Cuttlebug. The tiny sentiment is from SU.
