Just a note

I always try to get at least one card made for each challenge at CAS Mix Up as they really make me think outside the box, for both ideas and techniques.

For my card I used a sphere die from Altenew to make a stencil (I do have the actual stencil from Altenew as well, but preferred the smaller size of the die for this particular project). I brushed on some Shabby Shutters Distress ink then used the stencil to add more of the same colour but this time applying with a sponge dauber. The SSS leaves were cut from some scrap DP and then inked a little with more green and a touch of gold.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
I based the design on the sketch from Colours and Sketches

Today we are going to meet our son and his wife and daughter for lunch. This will be the first time that we have eaten out for over 6 months. It feels a little odd. we are fortunate that our area is not as restricted as many in the UK, but we must still be vigilant.
What strange times!
Stay safe everyone!

Just a note

One of the joys of being a squirrel is that one day, stuff that you have stashed away will come in handy!
I made the panel on this card ages and ages ago and it has sat in a little cache of stuff, to be used when appropriate! This is that time!
This is the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and so you can see how my little panel came in useful!
I don't remember the make of the stamp, I have a feeling that it was a clear stamp, probably bought on eBay, but I can't actually put my hands on it at the moment. I think I coloured it with watercolour pencils, blended with a water brush and then once dry it was glazed with Glossy Accents.
I looked for a 'Just a note' sentiment (because of the musical association) but could't find one in a sympathetic font or size so I did this one on the computer.
The card base is Hammered white card from Paper Mill Direct. I think that several members of my choir will like this one... once we get back to real rehearsals, rather than virtual ones!

Just a note

This stamp and die set from Altenew is a recent acquisition. I saw some of the stamps on cards on various blogs and was immediately drawn to it. I don't think I've done enough colouring recently and it's something I really enjoy. I have bought many alcohol marker sets over the years and now lots are at the stage of drying up and it's  hard to decide what to do about replacement. I have sets of Mirage Pens, Copics, Promarkers, Spectrum Noir, Chamaeleon, some Stampin Up Markers and some old Dovecraft ones. I think I need to go through all of them and throw out the ones which have dried up and that I don't think I need. I do have some refills for some favourite Copic shades, but it's tricky to know what to do. I think my two favourites are Promarkers and Copics.
For this card I used Copics. I used the sketch from CASe this Sketch
