Merry Christmas

I think that Christmas cards are my very favourite to make as I know that each one will find a home and none will be wasted. By making them year round, I can enjoy the process with each one and not be having a mad rush as Christmas posting deadlines approach.
Here are a couple of cute polar bears from MFT popping by with a Christmas Greeting. There's just a little shading with alcohol pens and an embossed, snowy backdrop. Simples!
The challenge at CAS Christmas this time is Christmas Critters, so this is for that!

Merry Everything

Recently I was lucky enough to win a challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and the kind people over there invited me to do a Guest Designer Spot for them, so here I am!

There's nothing quite like using a good simple sketch and this is what I came up with!
The stamps and matching dies are from MFT, (apart from the tree and I can't remember the make of that one... I seem to have so many!). I dry embossed it with a Sizzix EF  to add a little dimension.
There's something very satisfying about making Christmas Cards... during the year I make so many cards, a large proportion of which sit in my card box for a very long time. I haven't sold any to my choir for ages as we haven't been meeting because of Covid 19 restrictions. I have still been doing commissions for people, but the general cards I have made for challenges etc probably won't find homes for ages. When it comes to Christmas cards however, I know that they will all find a home as I send out so many each year!
Anything Christmas

Naughty or nice?

This is my DT card for the challenge at Christmas Craft Creations, which this time is to include a Christmas Character
I have had these stamps from MFT for longer than I have owned the matching dies... I must say that to use them is such an improvement on my cutting out skills! Santa was coloured with alcohol pens and given all white accessories... trees etc. He is a cutie isn't he!
I hope everyone is keeping well, these are such strange times. I should have been taking my granddaughter on a cruise to Spain and Portugal with a visit to Guernsey en route, but sadly that was not to be and was cancelled. I have re-booked for next year, but it all seems a little odd!
We were due to be going to St David's to sing in the cathedral with a group in August, but I still don't know what will be happening then! Our choir has been having Zoom rehearsals, but it's not the same as singing together. We've also had an Zoomed online Wine Tasting evening, and a Quiz, via the same platform, both of which were great fun. It is nice to see your friends and family even if it's only on a screen!
We have each been recording ourselves singing some Brahms, and sending the videos to our accompanist, who will be putting us all together to make a virtual choir. I can't wait to see how that one turns out!
Stay safe everyone!

Hello

Yesterday my two older grandchildren... Daisy aged 8 and Sebby aged 6 arrived to spend the remainder of their half-term holiday with us. My husband went to pick them up from Bath and forgot to bring their coats. Today I discovered that Daisy doesn't have her trainers with her either, so unless she attempts to do our proposed rock climbing session this afternoon in Ugg boots, I'm going to have to go and do a little shopping! This evening they'll be joined by my youngest grandchild Cleo aged 6 months, so tomorrow promises to be real fun! Next week I will probably spend getting over it!
Enough of all that.
Here is a card for the challenge at MFT where there is a sketch to follow this time.
I chose two dies from MFT for this, but card base size limitations meant that I could only fit four boxes into it. The card was coloured employing a smooshing technique, using a mix of Inka Gold in Platinum, Distress inks in Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon and Spectrum Noir Aqua Tint in White, all generously spritzed with water.
I'm now heading for the shower to be followed by a shopping trip for coats and trainers!
