Count on me

I was delighted to find this free download of friendly frogs! I had tried drawing some myself but was singularly unsuccessful, so was delighted to find these. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I simply cut out the frog which I had coloured with alcohol pens and popped him onto some dimensional dots.
It is my DT card for Perfectly CAS which as you can see is Animals this time.
Recently my time has been spent reacquainting myself with  my sewing machine. I started making scrubs as there is a real need at the moment amongst many health workers. The first set I made was from some fabric I had stored away, plus a bed valance which was no longer used.

I ordered some fabric online and once that arrived I began making some with that.

Since then I have made a few more and they will all be going to my son's practice in Worthing. As a GP, he hasn't had to wear scrubs for many years, in fact not since he was a newly qualified doctor working in hospital, but due to the situation at the moment everything has changed, hence his need for scrubs.
We are lucky to have our hobby of crafting to keep us occupied during lockdown, so do stay safe everyone!

Masking

The challenge at Perfectly CAS this month is Masking
I haven't done any masking for quite a long time and I tried a few different things.... most of which left me feeling underwhelmed. For this card I used some Blockhead stamps (again these haven't seen the light of day for ages, until very recently). I don't feel too badly about this one. I left some space at the bottom of the card for a sentiment and was really pleased with the way that this one fitted the contours of the images (a pure fluke that the two things worked together). I had searched through my sentiments however to see if there were any which would fit well. I think it's from Clearly Besotted, but there's no manufacturer's name on the carrier sheet.

I made this one first but wasn't to keen on the flatness of the 'white space', although I like how the leaves turned out!
I hope that you will join us and try your hand at CAS.... lots of lovely white space, no matter what the colour!

Happy Anniversary!

I really enjoy colouring die cuts in various ways. Here I used some watercolours to add interest to this pansy die cut by Alexandra Renke. I also stamped a Gorgeous Grunge stamp in the background and added a simple narrow frame also coloured with watercolour. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.
It's my DT card for Perfectly CAS where the challenge is to use die cuts.

Do come and join in the fun!

What is the plural of rhombus?

I guess we could get into quite a discussion here... rhombuses or rhombi? Whatever the answer,
there are quite a few of them in this card, or rather they are absent but we can see where they were!
The trellis die is from Memory Box, cut from a simple panel and with just a couple of die cut sprigs of eucalyptus cut from a piece of photographic paper, which had been coloured with alcohol inks.
The foliage die is by Alexandra Renke and the sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.
It's my DT card for the challenge at Perfectly CAS, where the decoration must not take up more than a third of the front of the card. In other words we need to see lots of white space!
As you can see, the challenge is to include SHAPES!
DO join in the fun!
Today I am having an arthroscopy on my knee, something that has been needed for about 2 years, let's hope it will be successful! It's just day surgery so I'll be hobbling around at home again tomorrow!

Love Flowering

I haven't used this stamp from Penny Black for quite some time, but it is perfect for a one layer card. I stamped it in SU Crumb Cake and embossed the sentiment in gold. Simplicity itself. I can see where the manufacturer got the name of the stamp from... the blooms do look a little like hearts don't they!
It's my DT card for the Perfectly CAS One Layer challenge.
I added a little clear Wisp of  Stella over the image to add a little interest.

I'm sure that one layer cards are not as scary as they once were for many crafters, so do have a go and join us!

Time to celebrate

The challenge at Perfectly CAS this time is

I guess there are so many reasons for celebration... but at this time of year, I'm thinking about Christmas.
We will be spending it with both of our children and their families, which couldn't be better.. a real reason for celebration. We all love to see the cousins playing together.
For my card I used hammered card stock and masked a thin strip with washi tape before stamping the trees with a couple of colours of Distress Inks, using my MISTI. After removing the tape I again used my MISTI as a positioner before stamping and embossing the sentiment in gold. I think I must have been lucky that the washi didn't leave any tacky residue for the EP to stick to, but the anti static bag must have done its job well!
There's something about the combo of green and gold which really pleases me!
Tomorrow we will be celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary, yet another milestone and an excuse for a celebration! Last year we spent our anniversary on a cruise..,. this year it's just going to be a glass or two of fizz!
Cheers!

Christmas Joy

The theme at Perfectly CAS this month is Christmas... how appropriate!

My card this time does not consist of a geometric third, but the design does take up about one third of the surface areas of the front of the card.
I simply die cut three snowflakes, two white and one in gold, heat embossed a simple sentiment from Hero Arts and stuck them onto the card front. The sentiment panel is popped up onto dimensional pads. This could be a good design for mass production methinks!
I hope that you are well on the way to getting your Christmas cards ready, but if not here is the perfect opportunity to add to your stockpile!
DO join us!

Singing Chicken

Would wouldn't love a singing chicken on their birthday?
This is a simple DT card for the Perfectly CAS challenge, where every entry needs to be just one third or less of the card front used.
The chicken is one of my favourite Penny Black images, coloured with Copic markers; I think these chickens are SO cool!
The sentiment is from LOTV.

Perfectly CAS

Exciting News!
There's a new blog on the block and it's Perfectly CAS!
Just up my street!
This one has been has been created down under in Australia by the inimitable Kylie!
In order to keep things Perfectly CAS, there is the codicil ...Just One Third!
SO if you keep your design to just one third of the card base there is bound to be lots of lovely white space... the essential ingredient for Clean and Simple cards.

The first challenge is to include flowers.
Here I used a die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, cut from white card with the centres coloured with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.
DO come and join in the fun!
See you there!
