merry CHRISTMAS

I spotted the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches and thought I would have a go!
I've had this little holly stamp by Stampendous for ever and never tire of using it. I simply coloured it with a few shades of Copic markers and arranged it to fit behind the window in the little panel. I've also had the little Memory Box or Poppy Stamps sentiment (can't remember which) for ages too and love that just as much!
It's really, really simple but that appeals to me! I just love making Christmas cards as I know they will get a recipient, unlike many of the cards I've made over the years, which sit in a box until I cart them off to a charity shop!

Just a note

I always try to get at least one card made for each challenge at CAS Mix Up as they really make me think outside the box, for both ideas and techniques.

For my card I used a sphere die from Altenew to make a stencil (I do have the actual stencil from Altenew as well, but preferred the smaller size of the die for this particular project). I brushed on some Shabby Shutters Distress ink then used the stencil to add more of the same colour but this time applying with a sponge dauber. The SSS leaves were cut from some scrap DP and then inked a little with more green and a touch of gold.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
I based the design on the sketch from Colours and Sketches

Today we are going to meet our son and his wife and daughter for lunch. This will be the first time that we have eaten out for over 6 months. It feels a little odd. we are fortunate that our area is not as restricted as many in the UK, but we must still be vigilant.
What strange times!
Stay safe everyone!

Last Week as GD at Colours and Sketches

This is my past week as Guest Designer at Colours and sketches and this week there is a super simple sketch to follow!
Here I used a sweet elephant die from Memory Box and used some Pink Petticoat paper  plus a googly eye to complete it!#The sentiment also cut from the PP paper is from Poppy Stamps.
This should have been scheduled for yesterday, but I forgot to press a button, so here it is rather tardily.
Today I shall be off to meet lots of other crafters in Swindon for the retreat organised by Kylie from HLS. Should be a heap of fun!
I will post some pics soon!

More colours

Week three of my Guest Designer spot at CAS Colours and Sketches and it's round to another colour palette.
I find some combinations tricky, but this one feels a little jazzy and somewhat rock and roll so hence the drum kit. It was a downloadable image from the Internet with splats from inks as close to the designated colours as I could manage. The stamps are from Stampin' Up and Stamplorations and the sentiment was computer generated in VNI-Thufap2 font, which is freely downloadable.
It's a simple one layer card... very CAS!

Time for a Sketch

Here is my card for the second week of my Guest spots at Colours and Sketches!
This is simply a bundle of die cuts!
Sizzix - Wire bundle and wild flower
Memory Box - butterfly
SSS - Floral spray
Hero Arts - Congrats
Embellishments - Crystal gems and Nuvo Drops in Silver Lining
The card for the base of the butterfly was coloured using Inka Gold paste, mixed with Distress Inks and spritzed with water and then prints were taken using card.
We should still be on our Mediterranean cruise, I've just about round to the notion that we will be taking it next year instead, when I hope the cruise line won't be overbooked again!

Best Wishes

A teacher friend of mine co-ordinates the giving of greeting cards to members of staff at her school. She asks  me to produce them for a variety of occasions. This time it's simply 'Best Wishes' and I have made half a dozen for her.
I made this one with the colours from the Colours and Sketches CAS challenge.
I think it's a really pretty combo and always reminds me of a friend whose house decor had lots of evidence of these shades.
The leaf stamp is from Impression Obsessions and the butterflies are from an SU/Sizzix Embosslits die.
I'm not sure of the make of the sentiment, but it's mounted on a reduced size Papermania slider die.
The embossing on the base panel is from  Sizzix folder.
Many thanks for my Top 3 place on the last CAS colour challenge!
