WOYWW

This is going to be brief today, as I have an assignation!
This piccie is of the beginnings of a card for a' Naming Ceremony'. I haven't actually heard of one of these before, but there's always a first time for everything.
I haven't seen any such cards in the shops and I'm sure that the chosen names of Knox Lyndon, would be difficult if not impossible to find in a commercial card. I will type the sentiment on the computer.
So the Cuttlebug has been busy cutting out the letters for the name, and the colours chosen are to co-ordinate with the gift, which is a Gruffalo Breakfast set. I haven't quite worked out how it will all develop, but time will tell.
I didn't have any of the appropriate shade for the ribbon, so I coloured some with a Promarker.
Having had several days with no crafting due to the presence of my daughter and granddaughter, I've got a lot to catch up on, plus my assignation of course!
I'll let you know about that later!
Hop over to Julia's to see what everyone else is up to this fine Wednesday!
Have a Happy Day!

  2. Great workspace, good luck with the "naming" card. And your very secretive sounding assignation - can't wait to hear about that.

  3. OMGosh, colouring the ribbon. I wonder if your customers and recipients know how much work you put into their cards. Shows you how far behind children are for me now - no idea that green was for Gruffalo. Looking forward to hearing of your assignation - I may well wait for your account before I tell of mine!!

  4. Hi, I made one of these cards last year but fortunately for me the Gran wanted a photo of the baby on the front of the card....I sat her on a ouple of fancy dollies....then the aid of the Bug and printing on the PC....job done. I think it turned out well, but then the Gran did cry when she saw it! Look forward to seeing how yours turns out. Have a great day - hope the sun shines for your assignment! (lol) ikki x

  5. After visiting some seriously messy desk my blood pressure was sky high, and then I came to your oasis of peace, calm and tidiness. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Spotted a SU roller there (love those) and loving the look of those markers - which brand are they then?

  6. I very much wonder what "assignation" is, also a naming ceremony - isn't that just christening..well maybe if you are not religious you call it that! Amazing what strange things us crafters have to do! :-0

  19. If I don't have something to coordinate for a project, I'll color the ribbon, too. I wonder if the recipients know how much you put into things. Looks like a very organized way to craft, too. Happy WOYWW.

  26. Hmmm ... yep I think you could be right there hun on the name - don't think you'll find that to easily. I have trouble finding Whitney and Yasmin (plenty of Jasmine/Jasmin but not many of my girls name) so I think Knox is pretty unique there. Very organised I wish I was sometimes hehehe
Take care hun and have a good week

  27. Sorry I'm rather late in calling in. It's been really manic here the last few days and I had to pop to see my elderly neighbour in hospital last night [only a 62 mile round trip :-)].
I childminded a little one many years ago that had a naming ceromony under an Elm tree in a field :-)

  31. You are a tidy momma! And, I hasten to add, have marker mania from the looks of that stash lining the back of your desk. I too am addicted to markers, and have recently (guiltily) bought Cases of them as they were on sale for .20 a pack (I KNOW) on account of all of this back-to-school nonsense.

  32. Hi there, we went to a naming ceremony for my niece last year. It was held in the registry office where her parents had got married, it was lovely. Some poems were read out and the registrar talked about bringing up children, and then the eqivalent of 'godparent's got up and made promises to always be there for the child etc etc. then they all signed a certificate. It was all very relaxed and lovely.

  34. Hi Chrissie
Your card looks to be shaping up nicely. There are a lot of Naming Cermonies over here. They are like a non-religious Christening and you have a celebrant not a priest. Love your space too.

  37. Naming ceremonies are a great way to get all the family together if you're not religious and don't want a Christening. Mind you, we just had a party! Good luck with the card - love the Gruffalo! x
