I had a fancy for using this tiny reindeer for my card for CAS Christmas this time. The challenge is to use the colours Grey and Red.
I dug out two shades of grey paper and a scrap of red. This little Memory Box deer doesn't actually have a nose per se so I used one from the waste of a holey border die cut. The trees I believe are from SSS or maybe Memory Box, sometimes there seems to be a bit of a cross over of the same dies from different companies. Rudolph is stacked a couple of times and the snow was embossed with a Sheena Douglass EF which is sadly no longer available!
The sentiment is from Stamplorations.
In fact the card started out with a different sentiment, but I looked at it and looked at it and decided it had to go... I really didn't like it. This was the original version.
The big old sentiment takes too much attention away from the little image...IMHO!
Would you agree?

CAS and absolute perfection Chrissie!! I love the white on white sentiment and of course that small pop of red really stands out against all the white and gray! Lovely, lovely card! Thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us at CAS Christmas!! Marcia (DT) :0)
ReplyDeleteGreat snow scene and love the touch of red on Rudolf's nose :) thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful, Chrissie. The snow scene is lovely and I love the red nose.
ReplyDeleteYes and I agree the white sentiment fits better.
Just had to pop over from the CAS Christmas gallery, Chrissie, to comment on this cutie!! So fun to just have the red nose as the only red - really pops! But that reindeer die is the ultimate cut!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I like both versions, Chrissie! But I don't have the critical eye for CAS design that you have been blessed with, so I learn something from you with each of your designs! I love the shades of gray you used with just the single nose pop of red!! Hugs, Darnell (CCCC GD)
ReplyDeleteAs always, your card is absolutely gorgeous, Chrissie! Beautiful winter scene and your white-on-white sentiment is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your change to the card design, Chrissie. Adding the die-cut sentiment in white is subtler and the circle with images stands out more. I do love your design! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet little winter scene - such an adorable reindeer! I agree with you that the white sentiment works much better than your original black one. Great way to work in the red for the challenge with the reindeer's nose! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAdorable View! Thanks for playing along with us at CASology!
