Today I thought that I would have another go at doing a card for the CAS Mix Up challenge, which this month is OMBRE
For this card I used a Papertrey Ink stamp, inked with Versamark and then stamped onto black paper. I used three metallic shades of embossing powder, sprinkled sideways over the image and heat set.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
The dragonfly, from a Memory Box die, was cut three times and layered to add a little dimension and the wings cut from vellum, dry embossed to give a little texture and wiped with a metallic gold inkpad. This was my attempt at a little veining for the wings.
A very clever ombre card Chrissie - and the dragonfly looks amazing!

ReplyDeleteWhat elegance, Chrissie! I love the ombre done with metallic embossing and it's a wonderful place for this gorgeous butterfly to perch! Your "veining" worked beautifully! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous with the metallic embossing powders. I love the way it seems to drip down the page. The wings look great.
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant and gorgeous, Chrissie! The metallic heat-embossed ombre looks amazing against black! And I love your dragonfly. Adding a touch of metallic gold to the dry embossed vellum wings is a brilliant idea and it's so effective. Thank you so much for sharing with us (again) at CAS Mix Up!
