One Layer week again already?

Today on Less is More, I'm being joined by Jen as Guest Designer, whilst Mandi is still busy with her new business. Jen makes the most amazing cards and I shall be glad to have her support.

On Thursday I went to the NEC with my lovely friend Anne. We had a super day and bought loads of goodies, but the traffic on the way home was horrendous. I believe there was an accident somewhere near to the M42 which we were trying to get on to. We saw lots of flashing blue lights... police, ambulances, a fire engine and traffic control cars. An officer from the latter drove up to the roundabout, laid out a barrier of cones in front of a line of cars waiting to access the roundabout and then drove off. Goodness knows how long they were stuck there, We decided to take a punt on going  on the M6 south instead and let the lady in the Sat Nav tell us where to go from there. We only added 11 miles to the journey and were moving all the time, which is so much better than being parked on a roundabout!
Here is my stash!
Lots of dies and some Pan Pastels!

I can't wait to get going on this lot!

Here are my cards for Less is More this week.
Two  little Stampin Up houses with a computer generated sentiment.

This is a little Art Impressions stamp, coloured with watercolour pencils . The sentiment is from Inkylicious  and the little heap of rocks is from Hobby Art.

Finally, a little strip of houses from my Stampin' Up wheel, gently coloured with watercolour pencils in neutral shades. The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up.
My daughter and grandchildren are coming to stay tonight, I can't wait to see them again. Daisy does love to have a sleep over at Granny's!
Have a great weekend.

  1. Looks like your scarf is well underway! I like all your cards, but the Stampin' Up wheel one is just adorable, I do love this one, must try out the wheels sometime, great effect.
I've been using my Little Clair card and catching up on cards to send out, glad I replaced it!

  4. Fabulous cards as always
Looks like you had a great day on Thursday - that was the day I was there too but as a "local" I didn't encounter any problems with motorway traffic although I must admit the M40/M42 are notorious for accidents and snarling up the complete area.

Love the look of your stash - you've got several things that are on my wish list but unfortunately I was on a very strict budget this year :(

Look forward to seeing what you make with all that loveliness.

  11. Glad you had a good time at the NEC Chrissie and pleased you got some help with LiM. You've made some super one layer cards this week... and I've just realised that my pulled-out-of -the-bag house card wasn't one layer! Aaargh - back to the drawing board! Vicky x

  14. Wonderful examples Chrissie, just love the monochrome, must try that with the cream card stock I have. So pleased that Jen has joined the team as a guest. Your new stash looks very tempting, must admit part of the reason I have not been to the NEC for ages is the time spent in traffic! Pleased your journey was not too extended.

  15. You seemed to have got a decent amount of stash Chrissie - I think the show was definately smaller - not as many visitors either (yet Cake International was packed!) I'll definately stick to the local fairs in future - the doncaster ones are much better. I'll photograph my new storage unit when it arrives in December....

I love your monochrome houses this week - so simple but so effective. I didn't find I got a good impression with my rooftop stamp either - had to use embossing ink under the black and stamp it on a mat so perhaps its the stamp design.
