Colour Create #5 Blue & Brown & Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge

It's amazing how things seem to go in cycles. Here is yet another card in Blue and Brown. I seem to have had quite a run on this colour combo lately. This time it's for the Colour Create Challenge. I took inspiration from the sketch at Our Creative Corner, although it is jiggled around a little.
I often wonder how other people go about attempting a card either for a challenge or just for a new card.
I tend to think about colour... if it's prescribed, then I assemble all the papers I think might be useful. Then I look for an image that will co-ordinate with the papers. It's no use having a traditional image with trendy papers or vice versa. If I have a given sketch, I fiddle around with the papers until I'm happy with which one should be used where. I then fiddle around a whole lot more until the finished card emerges. Are other people more organised than me?
I never stick anything together until I think I've got it sussed, even then quite a few bits and bobs end up in the bin.
I'd love to hear how others arrive at their finished work!

  4. Hi Chrissie, this is beautiful, so elegant, Love your eventual choice of papers (lol), nobody can be less organised than me. One card will cause me to trash the whole house, I've even found papers in the bathroom before now!!!
Can I just say your disorganised state was well worth it and the image is perfect.

  6. Another perfect card Chrissie. You amaze me how quickly you come up with these little beauties every Sunday (especially with all that fiddling - lol). I love the way the colour of your stamped image echoes the colour of the lace. Just breathtaking! Thanks for joining the Colour Create Challenge.

  8. Beautiful card Chrissie, such a pretty, delicate image!
I usually start by picking an image, followed by papers, then I draw a rough layout sketch. After mounting my image I think about embellies! xx

  13. Beautiful and elegant card Chrissie! I love the delicate rose image and the beautiful butterfly. I'd say you're much more organised than me with your preps for a card and it definitely shows as your cards are superb. I often get it wrong with the style of image and papers together LOL, that's the most common error for me and my cards seem to just come together as I go along mostly. Chris x
