"Less is More" - Acetate

This week our challenge at "Less is More" is to use some acetate of some description. Here I have used  a piece for the front of my card, attaching it behind a flap which is an extension of the back of the card.
I lined the inner right hand side of the card with some brown  card and stamped on the acetate in white Stazon so that the image would show up.
Inside, I stamped the brown card with a larger version of the stamp using deep brown ink, so that it gave the impression of a shadow from the image on the front.
All that was left to do was to add a sentiment which I added in the corner on the front.

The images are a mixed bunch. Although the two  flower stamps are identical, apart from their size, one is from Inkylicious and the other from Magenta, at the moment I'm not sure which is which.
The sentiment is from Personal Impressions.

Finally here's another card, using a piece of scrap plastic which I punched with a Tonic butterfly punch, dabbed with alcohol ink, glued and glittered and added a few pearls. It's a simple way to use a little acetate (or like substance) even if you don't have any sheets of it.

The background of this card, uses a Stampin' Up background stamp and the flourish is from Inkylicious.

Do join in our challenge over at "Less is More" we love to see the inventiveness of our participants.

  11. Both are gorgeous cards - personally, I like the first one with ribbon rather than without. I think it dresses the spine of the card. My acetate is probably very dusty :-D Lynn x

  27. What a great way to use acetate! I'm going to put my thinking cap on for this challenge, ha ha.
BTW, I have the same stamp - by Crazy Stamps - and I've had it for over 10 years. I think mine is smaller than the one on the front of your card. Interesting!

  28. Two lovely and clever cards but personally I prefer the second one.
Not really used to acetate and have made a first attempt by using a digi image printed on to acetate 3 hours ago but not dried yet. Back to the drawing board I think.
Never expected acetate at all but can't let the side down will do my best.
    Thanks

  46. Hi Chrissie
Thanks for commenting on my card. Agree with you the acetate colour doesn't quite match the image colour. Don't have time to try again this week so i shall learn from my mistakes... Loving the feedback so thanks again:-)

Stunning cards but i like the second card with a hint of acetate much better. Fantastic idea of using a shadow though and aren't you lucky to have the same image to do this with.

Loving the challenges, this is a tough one for me but i have tried:-)

  47. Stunning cards. LOVE the shadow effect on the first one - how amazing that you had a slightly larger stamp! It looks really beautiful.

  49. How pretty, Chrissie!- and the idea to fix the acetate with a flap was genius! I've been getting frustrated, with computer ink not drying on acetate - even overnight. I wish I had a laser printer - I presume it would dry then. Thanks again for sharing your great ideas x

  54. I love them both! The first one is such an inspiration, as I am not at all confidant about stamping on to acetate. I have just invested in the inkylicious set. couldn't resist!

  55. Hi Chrissie :)
Both of these cards are gorgeous- think I shall have to get me some alcohol inks (been meaning to for ages and was kicking myself for putting it off when I saw this week's challenge!!lol) and a permanent inkpad so I can try something more interesting with the rest of my acetate!! :) I love the stamp in the first card and the shadow is a great idea- I have it too in a clear set from Inkylicious, think it's probably smaller though :)
Oh, and I like the card with the ribbon but my first idea when you asked was that I might like just a strip not the bow... not sure how you'd fix it neatly then though :)
Thanks for all your encourging comments onmy LIM cards!! :)
