This card was trickier than I had originally envisaged, you can see the process I used on our "Less is More" challenge blog. I've had the sentiment stamp for ages, I bought it second hand on eBay I believe, and from time to time it comes in useful!
The challenge this week is a one layer card where the sentiment is the focus.
It's quite a difficult proposition to make a card attractive where the words are paramount.
Here's another one using a Heidi Swapp sentiment stamp and Inkylicious flourishes on the edges. The butterflies were to cover a little ink smudge! I'm not terribly pleased with this one, which is why I didn't put it on our challenge blog, but it may give someone an idea of what she might do.
The last time we went away for a concert, I forgot to take a black polo neck top, which we wear under our dresses in draughty churches and I had to rush out and buy one... today I have remembered, but I wonder what else I'll forget!
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you'll enjoy joining in with our rather tricky challenge this week.
Wonderful card, such a lot of work, but, its FAB The other is 'fabulous' too!!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend x

Hi Chrissie,

Keep up the good work, I'm loving doing all these CAS cards. Hope to be back for this challenge too.

WOW I love them both, Think the bottom one wins for me. Thanks for running such a great challenge again Hazelxoxo
ReplyDeleteI love them both but I think the fabulous just trumps it for me overall, I think its that it would be more "useful" as a card. I think the work in the first one though is A-maz-ing! Not sure you'll be needing a polo even inside a church today!
ReplyDeleteLove then both but for me the music one is my favourite

Both absolutely gorgeous cards,, I think the work involved in the music one has just made it for me over the Fab card, but that is brilliant too.
ReplyDeleteThis definitely was worth the work. It's just lovely and thanks for the clear and concise instructions on how to do it.
ReplyDeleteI love our new name. Are you gals sure you haven't borrowned this name from a 70s girl group out of Motown? Teasin'

Fabulous cards, Chrissie! Perhaps I should have peeked at some of the cards before I hurt my poor brain trying to come up with something! LOL! I LOVE the first card...and I might just give it a try sometime. I'm thinking maybe I need one of those magnetic plates to help me out with it though.
ReplyDeleteboth great cards, the tutorial is great too, it will come in handy!

ReplyDeleteThey are both gorgeous cards, the one with the music is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteChrissie thanks so much for the technique you have left on my blog with my LIM cards - I was honestly thinking of doing this when I did the set but couldn't for the life of me work out how to do it without cutting a big hole out of my embossing folders!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS - I will try this :)
Your cards are gorgeous by the way ;)
Carol x
Both gorgeous cards Chrissie, but I really love the sparkly fabulous card :o) I struggled with this week - thanks for your lovely comment! Lisa x
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Chrissie, but I love the top one the best.
ReplyDeleteMaureen..........x
Really beautiful cards! And thanks a lot for the comment in my blog, the swedish sentiment says something like "When you've been in a real hurry you'll have to stop and wait for your soul". I have added that to my blog, forgot it when I made the post so I really appriciate your comment on it. Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards Chrissie, love the first one!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Whimsy downloads :0)
Take care

another beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI think both your cards are so elegant, I hardly ever think of stamping in other than black or using a sentiment as a focal point. Will have to think hard this week. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that I never thought of commenting on your personal blog.
ReplyDeleteYour cards and tutorials are an inspiration to many besides me.
I can't believe how difficult I find these challenges, but a challenge they are.
I really do want honest comments..
I find it very difficult commenting on on non google entries.
Thanks for opening a whole new world to a lot of people.

WOW .. two perfect cards. I really like the second one; the sparkly blue is great and "fabulous" is the first thing I saw; exactly what the challenge was about. No flourishes necessary on that one, the sentiment and butterflies would make this a huge seller at the craft fairs here.

ReplyDeleteFabulous card Chrissie, very pretty!
ReplyDelete(Lyn)
Both cards are super Chrissie but i prefer the Fabulous one, liking the colours and block text like this always look amazing:-)

Wonderful layering technique and the end result is fantastic. Equally love the "Fabulous" card, the colours and design are perfect and it's so reassuring to know someone who produces such excellent cards as you...also suffers occasionally from attack of the smudges!!!
