WOYWW - DIY Stampamajig

Good morning campers!
Today I thought that I would show you how I use my DIY Stampamajig for positioning stamps when the wooden block obscures just where you are stamping.
I use the corner of a Nestie pack, with the turned up edge intact so that it doesn't slip under the 4 pieces of Jumbo Lego, constructed into a right angle.

I place the piece of acetate packaging in the corner of the lego and stamp onto it using Stazon with the stamp snugly in the right angle.
I then take the piece of acetate and place it accurately over the previously stamped image, in this case the base of the house.

Then I put the lego back into its previous position and carefully (without moving the lego or the cardstock) remove the acetate.

I then stamp the image onto the card, again with the stamp snugly in the corner of the Lego.
This is the card I made for the Saturday Challenge which asks for monochrome plus white.
I tried a bit of an experiment with the embossing. I used a Nellies die, which is slightly thicker than Nesties and has made a very deep impression, almost to the point of cutting through the card... but not quite. My tan mat was squished into the crevices of my Cuttlebug B plate and had to be gently extracted, but still seems to be intact.
If you want to know the method I use for embossing onto the front of a card, just say and I'll show you how I do that!
Well this was what was on my desk this morning, if you would like to see more craft spaces, head on over to Julia's blog... there's a permanent link on my sidebar!
Have a great day!

  6. The lego is such a good idea
The acetate way gets on my nerves. I have pre stamped mine onto thick white parchment, which I find far easier, then line up with a stampmajig...can see the Lego perfect

  9. Clever use of the NS die - I never thought to use that one! Frames your stamp a treat! Another clever idea to use the blocks, what did you use before Daisy arrived? Something equally ingenious I'm sure! ikki

PS: you're looking very tidy today - have you moved into the kitchen as well?

  11. great tutorial Chrissie - and you should market the lego idea tee hee...

You're right about the nellies die - it is quite deep but has given a lovely impression. Like the house. Just simple and effective.

I've taken to using your table cloth idea too - I've just thrown it over the laptop a couple of times and shot a pic. Not bad...
