I made 2 cards today using the same image, sized slightly differently, one coloured with my Copics the other with Distress Inks.
I wonder if you can tell which is which and maybe more importantly, which you prefer.
The image is by Chris Dark and it continues to be one of my favourites
Both cards could be eligible for A Spoonful of Sugar's challenge of Spring, but the first card also incorporates the sketch FTL78 from Clean and Simple.
Both sentiments were generated on the computer in MS Word. The first says Happy Mothering Sunday, the second, Happy Easter.
I think I should just point out that in the UK we celebrate Mother's Day in March and not in May as across the pond. Also, many people, particularly those with firm religious beliefs, prefer to refer to the occasion as Mothering Sunday, rather than Mother's Day.
To put you out of your misery, pondering about which is which...
the top one is coloured with Distress Inks and the lower one with Copics.
The reason for my choice was that the smaller image was too fiddly to get a Copic marker into the tiny spaces, whereas my fine water brush was a breeze!
I've got to say I really love them both but if I had to choose I think I would pick the second one cos I like the detail accross the middle.

Both gorgeous cards Chrissie, and you're right it is a gorgeous image.
ReplyDeleteHard to tell which is which, but if I have to guess, I'd opt for the first card being the copics. I'm probably totally wrong, but all I can say is the colouring on both of these is superb!
I'm the opposite of Chrissie, I think the first is distress inks lol. Both are equally beautiful though, great cards to have in your stash, would cover lots of occasions.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pinky and I think the top one is coloured with distress inks.
Both images are coloured beautifully and I couldn't say which one I prefer.
The cards are gorgeous too, the layouts are great with the second one being my favourite but only by a little bit!

Hi Chrissie,
ReplyDeleteboth your cards are really beautiful, I think the first one is colored with distress ink but I like them both. It's indeed a very lovely stamp!
Greetings,

Hi, Both lovely cards - you could use them for any occasion. I think the first is DI and the second Copics. Now, which was the easiest; which was the most satisfying, and which was the quickest? I think you will say easiest/quickest - Copics, most satisfying DI. ikki x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!Love both of your cards!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the majority here, I think distres inks on the first and Copics on the second. Either way, stunning cards!
ReplyDeleteThey're both gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for playing along with us this week at Clean & Simple Stamping. :)
they are both beautiful Chrissie, but I couldn't really tell which was which .. .. so what does that say! I think in real life the texture/translucency might have given the game away.

ooohhhh Chrissie - I love the blue bells image... I would guess that the first one is the inks and the second your copics. I love them both but seeing the image coloured together (individually are stunning), but if I chose one over the other - I think the first one as it looks so much more artistic and watercoloured - which I think always does flower images so much justice.
