Polka Dots - Less is More

Call me a simple gal, but I love spots and stripes... I like gingham too come to that, and this week the challenge  at  Less is More is Polka Dots.
Here I have used a Waltzing Mouse clear stamp in Adirondack Oregano ink. I trimmed the long edges of the panel with my Woodware cutter, using the scallop blade. I then cut top to tail triangles to make the layers of the Christmas trees.
I love the ink effect on this hammered card, I think the uneven coverage adds a little interest which I prefer, rather than just using a polka dot backing paper.
The trunks were stamped with a Stampin' Up sentiment stamp, it actually says WITH JOY but that was too long so I opted just to have the JOY part showing. The sentiment is from SU's Contempo Christmas.
My vertigo still keeps recurring and I keep trying the Epley manoeuvre from time to time...maybe it will settle down again soon... what it is to be getting old!
Do join in with us this week, it's a simple recipe for a Clean and Simple challenge.

  2. What a fantastic use of dots - and I love the distressed look you've got from stamping on the textured card stock! I hope the vertigo gets better Chrissie. Getting older is ridiculous isn't it - sometimes I feel like a rusty old piece of machinery with bits falling off it! Vx

  3. This is such an elegant christmas card design - not too complex to replicate for a few either. I love the use of the word for the trunk - I may well CASE that idea if I get time to make some christmas cards.

  19. Oh Chrissie sorry to here the vertigo is acting up. As a fellow sufferer, I know how you feel. HUGS.

Love how you worked those Christams trees. The "Joy" stamp as the stump is very creative. I like the textured paper too; it does indeed give it that extra something. I also think textured papers give a card a bit more of an high end look.

I hope you feel better soon.

  21. It's so cool to see all the different ideas you wonderful ladies come up with every week! I have to admit, this totally gets the Elf stamp of approval!!! Love it! The getting old thing.....I've got a birthday coming up soon and I hate that fact I'm getting older! Things don't tend to work the same anymore and I have no patience for that! :O

  22. Fabulous tree design Chrissie, and so inventive. What a fab. idea to use the Joy stamp for tree trunks - I absolutely love this card. Also - many thanks for another enjoyable challenge.

So sorry you are suffering with vertigo - I hope it settles down soon. I occasionally have bouts of "positional vertigo" which, amongst other things, gives the sensation of spinning on a very fast merry-go-round when laid in bed!! My GP said "it's your age" - talk about rubbing salt into the wound!

Sorry to hear your vertigo is playing up - I know how that feels, they said to me at the hospital they get a lot of people with stiff necks due to trying not to bring it on - which is what I was doing at one point.
