Using kraft card is also something that I have never really previously embarked upon. The other day Mandi gave me quite a few samples of kraft card and this is one of them. This is SU's crumb cake and I think I like it best of all the ones she gave me.
I masked with Post It notes leaving a section which I then coloured with SU Whisper White ink applied with a sponge dauber. I stamped with the SU stamp, the set from which it comes has escaped me and coloured it with Copics. These pens had a really odd effect on top of the ink, so in order to jazz it up a little I added some Glossy accents. The sentiment is one I've had for ages, never used and forgot I had, until it turned up in a rummage today.
This one is a simple ONE LAYER sort of... there's actually a hole in the front of the card and the panel is sitting on a piece of acetate inside the card.
You may be able to see this more clearly here!
The heart is from SU the flower from Inkylicious and the sentiment from Studio G
This last one is just a bit of fun with a digi image from Bugaboo!
I printed both the image and the computer generated sentiment directly onto the card and coloured it with Copics.
The font is Viner Hand ITC.
Have a great weekend and don't forget to join in the fun at "Less is More".
Terrific cards my friend
ReplyDeleteThat black and white is inspired. Such an ingenius OLC!

My fav is the kraft one, have to say, it's SUPERB

Fabulous selection of cards to inspire us all - hard pushed to choose a favorite but think it might be the second one, closely followed by the first.

ReplyDeleteI love bugaboo - their images are so funny. The second card is just too clever! I have to say my fave is the first - I do love kraft so very much and I have never thought to add a white panel to it, so expect to see that coming up from me in the not to distant future! I'm just waiting for the postie to bring me my new copics too :-D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Chrissie, I love both heart cards and the Bugaboo lady and sentiment is fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you for another great challenge,
Love Sarita xx
Gorgeous cards. The white on the first card is a subtle way to highlight the image - brilliant. And I love your combination of stamps on the second card.
ReplyDeleteLove all your heart cards and the red hearts are gorgeous. Black and white card is very classy and I do like the images from bugaboo, they make such fun cards.
ReplyDeleteAnother fab challenge :) xx
3 absolutely fab cards. Can't decide which is my favourite - think it's the white/back card. Another really inspired challenge - thanks xx

The Kraft base makes such a beautiful contrast to the coloured hearts and I love your floating panel on the monochrome card Chrissie:)

Fabulous cards Chrissie, love the last one though, made me laugh out loud! Great inspiration from you Lady Lims, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteChrissie - these are just super. I really like the floating heart and flowers - very elegant. But I have to admit that the last one made me LOL!

Hi hun
ReplyDeletegorgeous cards as always, have managed to get me card done today, sue,x
Love these cards favourite is the second oh so elegant but the fun factor and sentiment in the last one did make me smile on this gloomy Sat morning ! x
ReplyDeletebeautiful cards... i really like the one you did up in kraft!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful and lovely cards, Chrissie!! I especially love how you made the second one...very creative, but the first one really caught my eye. The second didn't look one layer because of the cut out, the first, though, REALLY didn't look one layer because of the color...the white and then the colored hearts...AMAZING:)!!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous selection of cards Chrissie, I adore the kraft card, the second is a very clever design and I had a giggle at the last one.
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of that white inky layer Chrissie, I love that it can be inked and coloured over too! Thanks again for another fun challenge.
ReplyDeleteThese are so much fun, Chrissie! Love that white painted strip on the kraft card - must try that. And the second card is so cool! What a great effect using the acetate! And the third one gave me a good giggle... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Chrissie I love the woman one, very funny and love the black and white one with the acetate, I guess its a little contreversal whether its a true one layer or not but I love it. My fave however id the kraft one, I love the effect of the white on the kraft to make a panel and then stamping over the top. I will have to have a go at this. Thank you for the inspiration xx
ReplyDeleteI can't choose a favorite, but WOW, what fantastic techniques you've used. All 3 are fabulous in different ways. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Chrissie - love them all, but my favourite is the black and white SU heart - I also have that stamp, but I just love the way you have added the extra flowers and stems - it makes so much difference to the finished result.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sylvia xxxx
Terrific cards as always Chrissie, your inspiration is fab

LOVE that kraft card - your sponging is so smooth and the hearts are perfect against that background. Gotta get my thinking cap on for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful variety of hearts here. I love the colors of the first, the elegance of the second and the fun of the last!
ReplyDeleteHi there Chrissie, Hooray, yes it's really me, I'm back on my other computer and not my son's lap top, seems it was that after all:0) I can talk to you again, phew!
ReplyDeleteFabulous inspiration from your cards this week ! I think the first is absolutely stunning! Gay xxx
Hi Chrissie, I have not been able to comment on your blog. I tried several times last week. I hope this one is a charm because I want to tell you how much I love your heart creations, especially the first one. I thought it was brilliant to stamp white on Kraft, then stamp and your color your images on top. I am also curious as to what how the Copics behaved when you used them on top of the white. Love the acetate card, and the third one is adorable. OK. I am about to hit "publish"... Fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteThree super cards again Chrissie, so hard to choose a fav......maybe the black & white one, just adore that heart with the pretty flowers :O) Viv xx
ReplyDeleteGreat bunch of cards
