WOYWW Week 52

For the special week, a little bunting!
Good morning all you WOYWWers!
Not a great deal of interest to show this morning... a few stamps which I didn't have time to clean before going to my choir last night, my box of mini punches which I said I would show at some stage... and the detritus of yesterday's efforts. You may just be able to see my prize from the Penny Black Challenge Blog, it's a big old stamp with some mice on a keyboard... fabulous!
The funny shaped thing to the left of the shot is my attempt at making a pop-up ball like the Sizzix one. I think that I probably won't pursue the matter much further as it involves loads of cutting out. I can see why a die was made for the purpose. Actually I haven't got the proportions quite right, (it's not quite tall enough) but that could be easily rectified on the computer.
On the notice board is a paper with my workings out to make a tri-shutter card from a sheet of A4 card. The tutorials on the web are nearly all in metric measures, which don't tie in with the sizes of card we buy here. SO I fiddled around until I found something which worked and looked proportionally OK.
The card I made with this set of dimensions can be seen here.

Do you remember my set of drawers which went all wonky? Well this is the replacement. There is one fewer drawer, but each one holds more, so everything is accommodated. I must say that with all the bits and bobs on my desk there's not actually a lot of room to work, but I guess that if I had a larger area, it would be so full of stuff that I'd probably only have the same amount of space as I have now. It's the nature of the beast!
Hop over to Julia's and join in the fun! (Link on my sidebar).

  1. Chrissie I love how organised you are with all yor stuff, even down to a proper organizer for your punches. Mine are all in a carrier bag as everything I use has to be carried from one end of my 30ft living room to the other to use!!! My stash and computer are one end and the dining table where I work is the other. Oh for a proper craft room.

  7. Ooh those drawers look sturdier..as my friend would say, practical and not ugly. Always a good thing..probably a life tip! I love the bunting - how cheerful! Doesn't matter the size of the desk, we all end up working in about a square inch of space at the front edge!

  25. Chrissie - love your bunting - and how you formed the letters... bunting always reminds me of happy times and when villages hold carnivals - a time to celebrate so very apt for todays anniversary.

Sorry i haven't been on your blog to comment for a few days, but will be catching up soon...

your comment about my cat made me smile - but believe me - she does get in stranger places than that... she hides in boxes making OH think he's shut them in the kitchen - then he'll come upstairs and she'll be in a box or a bag that the boys have left on the landing - she really is a comical cat...

    hugs and Happy WOYWW Anniversary!

  32. Love the bunting. The style of the lettering is so Art Deco-ish. Interested in your comments about tri-shutter card and measurements. I've just treated myself to a Hougie board which is marked in inches one side and cms the other and is 12" square. Means all you need is simple measurements instead of an A4 based score board. Have just discovered a website www.card-making-magic.com which is full of instructions for many different types of cards. You have to sign up but it's free and well worth a look. Lots of links to other types of advertising-just don't click on them if you're not interested. Happy Wednesdays Hugs BettyXXX

  33. You can still use A4 on the board-just mean you can use it for 12" too.I have a huge stash of papeer mill stuff of many years collecting. Used to go to the mill before they opened the shops. It's too tempting when you get in there!Hugs BettyXXX
