One of my favourite background techniques is to squish some leaves and flowers from the garden, between pieces of card, by running them through my Cuttlebug. The colours which emerge are always so subtle and natural looking (obviously)!
Here I used a piece of this card for the base of the butterfly, twinkling it a little with some Glamour Dust. I cut a square of my leaf background card with a Nestie and framed it on a larger piece of card matching the base, but using the reverse side of it.
It's really simple but it pleases me!

This would also fit with the challenge at "Less is More" this week, but my main cards for that are in the post below this!

What an amazing idea, Chrissie, squishing nature to generate colour ... this is a real stunner! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cool technique Chrissie! Thanks for sharing it with us. Your card would make a great masculine card with those fabulous colors. Thanks for playing at ATCAS. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea and thank you for sharing it. I love the butterfly by the way!
ReplyDeleteLove the muted colours Chrissie, beautiful card. I keep meaning to try this technique and now would be good as I have been watching a squirrel picking buds off my Camellia, pulling all the petals off and eating something in the middle!! My garden is now littered with pink petals:)
ReplyDeleteAre you going to Ally Pally next month? I think Jenny is as she asked me:) It would be great to meet for lunch again!

ReplyDeleteI love this Chrissie! You've reminded me about a piece I did with some Lavender from my garden last year (after I had seen you do it!), but never used! I shall be using that! :)
