This week is the first time that we have had a sketch on "Less is More" and as you can imagine, it's a simple one!
I decided to do both masculine and feminine takes on it.
You can see details of what I used on the LIM blog.
Personally I prefer the masculine version... I had the idea of what to do and did the pink one first, but not being absolutely satisfied with it, followed up with the male version.
We went to a Wine and Tapas evening at our club restaurant last night. I think I'll spend today quietly!
2 Sisters - Make your own Embellishments
Both fantastic cards Chrissie but, like you, I prefer the male version. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteI like both but the masculine one is really superb. The ribbon is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie I love both your cards, I have all the SU tamps you used and I've hardly used them but now with your inspiration you've given me a some fab ideas and I'm off to buy myself some of thar extra thick embossing powder as well
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fab challenge

ReplyDeleteI think both cards are a great take on the sketch. I've thoroughly enjoyed creating 2 cards for the sketch (after I botched the first one!).
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandra
Super cards Chrissie, never tried Utee but it makes fab embellishments. I agree, prefer the masculine version - I like earthy, autumnal colours.
ReplyDeleteI love both cards Chrissie as always put together beautifully. I did pop over this morning but you were later posting! I was out for a late lunch so not long back in so thought i would catch up on this weeks inspiration.
ReplyDeleteenjoy the rest of the weekend

Both these cards are great. I really like the clean lines of the "male" one and I can imagine it in blues or greens too. And I like the "female" one - would work beautifully in lilacs and reds too! Can't pick a favourite - both are great!
ReplyDeleteI think LIM is just fabulous - thanks so much for starting it up. Deborah x
Hi Chrissie, i think both cards are fab.love the colour on the second card and the love heart too

Some more of your fabulous creations Chrissie. Computer crashed recently so have been busy reinstating craft bits and pieces that I had stored and not saved, which was a lot, so no time for crafting at the moment but enjoying browsing the LIM blog (and yours of course. Its great to see LIM going from strength to strength each week. Take care. Love Sheila (Cyprus)
ReplyDeleteChrissie, both cards are fabulous, but its what wev'e come to expect from you. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteChrissie, I think I agree with you. My choice is definitely the more masculine card (although it would be okay for either). I think the deciding factor for me was the placement of the sentiment. It seems to flow better for me down at the break in the card rather than floating on the top edge...but that's just me...always trying to "ground" my objects! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh both of your cards are so elegant, and I could not pick a favorite between the two,
ReplyDeleteand thank you so much for your lovely comment,
Have a great week,
Hugs Bridget :0) x
loving both your cards , like the purple one more.
ReplyDeleteNicky
These are both lovely cards, they are different of course, but both lovely in their own right.
ReplyDeletePS Thanks for the sketch and the DL card, I love using a DL.
hiya Chrissie, fabulous DT card for this weeks challenge.
ReplyDeleteI can`t believe I`m telling an expert something but I`ve just read that you don`t know what DL stands for. It means `double length` which basically is twice as long as it`s width, usually 4" x 8" as you said.

Both are so elegant hunni
ReplyDeleteThe pink draws me, but they are both equally stunning
As your work always is
Makes working with you such a pleasure

Love both of these Chrissie, thanks for the inspiration.

I absolutely love this sketch and am very attracted to these very clean designs. The masculine version is my favourite - I'm more drawn to those subtle colours. But what I really like about both cards is the way your word DP is the right way up! (There's no escaping your eagle eye -you're quite right, my upside down version was not intended!)
ReplyDeleteThis weeks sketch is fab and I'm busy beavering away. I love the both your cards, the sketch lends itself to allsorts of genres X
ReplyDeleteHello there Chrissy, More gorgeous cards, love them both, lean slightly more to the masculine one but both are lovely:0) xxx
ReplyDeleteI like both of them, but I think my choice would be the pink one. Thank you for your visit and kind comment.
ReplyDelete2 gorgeous cards Chrissie, but I have to agree with you I prefer the male card, well actually I think you could send that to a female.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful Chrissie, i prefer the masculine one too. Word papers are very on trend and really give the recipient something to look at as well as the main embellishment. LiKiNg a lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment and for always taking the time to drop by. Appreciate the feedback as i really want to learn how to do the CAS cards. Got my Craft Stamper Magazine yesterday and found the start of a series by Joanne Wardle on this very subject. More help the better:-)
