Purple is not one of my 'go to' colours, although apparently it is a colour which can be worn by everyone.
Here I used a Memory Box bauble die, inlaid and filled with a snippet of card coloured by smooshing purple Inka Gold and Distress Inks and then adding a little silver embossing in the form of stars.
I got the card the wrong way around in the Cuttlebug embossing folder and so ended up with a debossed pattern instead of being in relief.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.
It's for the photo inspiration challenge at Just US Girls.
And Di's Snippets.
I love using the off cuts from making cards as smooshing pieces... it's seems such a waste to toss them.
I may have another crack at this colour combo!
Beautiful card, Chrissie, Love that pop of brilliant colour. Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, fab colours and I really like the debossed background! xxx
ReplyDeletelovely card Chrissie - and the debossing is great - i thought you probably did it on purpose for a different effect.
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely Chrissie - welcome to the Snippets Playground! Am sure this is your first time on the swings - and what a lovely card too, That's one fabulous die and you used it beautifully, I need to have a go at this smooshing malarky!

Gorgeous card! I love the reverse embossing, thought it was deliberate and very clever. I still think it's very clever and I like the look... a lot!
ReplyDeleteI certainly think this colour suits you Chrissie and you should work with this combo again! Gorgeous, CAS, elegant and fun. I rather like the de-bossed panel ... sometimes 'mistakes' look better than the intended don't you think? Love to see you finding some time to craft and great to see you at AAA Cards. Thanks so much Sarah xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely! The ornament inlay is wonderful and this happens to be one of my favourite colour combos and you've done a wonderful job with them. Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, Chrissie. I think the debossing gives the background a unique look.
ReplyDeleteI love your CASlicious design, Chrissie! And I really love the e/f backwards like that! What amazing texture ... can't wait to try it myself!! Hugs, Darnell
