Clockwork

Last month when the One Layer Challenge came around at "Less is More" I merrily went ahead and made a Splatter card... forgetting that it was one layer week... this month ... guess what.. I did exactly the same thing. I was so anxious to use this Kaisercraft stamp that all thought of the one layer element left my mind. Anyway here is take 2!
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches which I think fits the theme beautifully!
Using my MISTI helps enormously to get the stamp square on to the card... always a tricky process!

Here is the version where I forgot about the one layer!
I really must be getting old!
I'm going to link this one to the the challenge at Twofers challenge as their theme is clocks/time
Why not join in the fun!

  1. Not sure I'll ever overcome my hatred (!) of one layer week :p but your top card could make me change my mind. So full of impact with the black and silver colour scheme, it really looks fab. Your first non-OLC attempt is great and it must have been gutting to remember about one layer week after! Brilliant inspiration cards both of them, thank you :)

  3. Your happy accident (aka forgetful brain) has really showcased that Kaisercraft stamp Chrissie! Love the different looks that you achieved with it and as always, both are clean, crisp and elegant. So glad you added the non-one layer one. I'd forgotten that I have that one in my stash - must dig it out. P.S. I have to do a double check EVERY week before I make my samples just to be sure I don't miss the one layer - I must be getting old too ;-)

  10. Fantastic cards Chrissie, love all that silver clockwork embossing against the black - such a classy take and perfect for the guys. In fact both great masculine ideas and always makes me giggle when you slip up on the OLC! You're not the only one though ;) - Oh your link isn't working for some reason from LIM! Have a great week. xx

  12. I have that stamp Chrissie and I love it. Both your cards as fabulous. I also forget the rules sometimes - once you get an idea in your head it's full steam ahead and it's not till you've finished you realise you haven't followed the speck.

  15. I love them both, but I think the contrast on the second shows off the watch faces more clearly. Or maybe I identify with it more because I'm so bad at stamping in white on black, I always end up with a grey mess, so even though you have very much NOT done that, the first one reminds me of all my failed attempts to make it look that good! Many thanks for joining us at Twofers
