Despite what I said in my post the other day about check and double check details for stationery, I still had a phone call from the bride to say that I had put an 's' instead of an 'f' in the word 'of' in the menus. The number of times I had thought that I had checked it!! I should have enlisted the help of my resident proof reader... my husband. When I came to look really closely at the menu, I spotted that I had in fact also missed out one of the 'e's in chees(e)cake and that I had copied a mistake from the bride's notes where one type of melon had been spelled incorrectly. Between us we did rather well, but as they say that things tend to go in threes, so hopefully that will be the end of it!
In all other respects, she was pleased.

Very elegant Chrissie. I have to do some proof reading at work, and yes sometimes you just don't see the wood for the trees!

Wowser Chrissie, this card is beautiful as is the wedding stationery. I know what you mean about 'mistakes'. You read what you want to read and not what you actually see. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wedding card Thanks for joining us at paperplay this week

Just lovely Chrissie! Glad I'm not the only one to miss out letters! The embossed initial and Mr & Mrs have come out really well. I like a lot! ikki
ReplyDeleteWhats a few spelling mistakes between friends? :-) I'm just pleased to see you actually make mistakes at all cos your work is usually so faultless. :-)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining us on Paperplay this week. ♥
Stunning card Chrisse... wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOn the proof reading front - you can check, check again, and triple check - but eventually you can't see the wood for the trees - great idea to get a fresh pair of eyes on the job... before I go to mass print, I print in draft on cheap paper... I made a mistake in the end on the order of services - I thought I'd changed the name of the church on the inside of card from All Saints Church... It should have said St Mary's and All Saints... I can't have saved the change cos I KNOW I typed it!!! Anyway, I felt better because the person who did the invites put 'the Crooked Spire' which is an informal name of the church... No one noticed my faux pas thankfully...
Thanks once again for all your help and advice last week...
