Happy birthday

Whenever I see an interesting simple sketch, I really feel the need to have a go... as was the case after seeing this from Freshly Made Sketches
It rang a bell for another challenge at Inkspirational to use Ink Splatters, so here it is!

In fact the splatters are stamped and not splattered, but I don't suppose that matters! I used a stamp from the SU Gorgeous Grunge set, which has been a favourite of mine for quite some time now!
The butterfly was cut with a Memory Box die from some smooshed card and given a plain mount so as to show up the filigree against the splatters.
The other day a friend asked me to make a card for her DIL's 30th birthday. She gave me pretty much free rein to do what I pleased but quite liked the  idea of flowers. I decided to make something that I thought she would like.
As it was a special birthday (it is today in fact) I thought we would go the whole hog and do something with a little dimension and make a box for it too!
This is a large card, (A4 sheet of card folded in half) and I had the idea that I wanted to use a soft blue and kraft for the colour scheme. I used Sahara Sand card from SU but didn't have any blue that I felt was quite right so I printed a sheet in Pink Petticoat's 'Ocean' shade. As I made the rolled flowers from this, I could use exactly the same colour for the sentiment. I pick up the RGB numbers by opening something in the colour into Paint and then using the dropper tool pick up a little of the colour to see what the combination of RGB is!
I used a bunch of dies, mainly Memory Box I think!
I thought I would add it to the challenge at Simon Says Stamp

Doggy Birthday

I love Bugaboo digi images, the style and humour of many of them really appeal to me. This, however is the first time that I have entered into one of their challenges!

My card is following this sketch.
I think this is one cool hound, he has such an adorable look on his face!
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and the pawprint die from Memory Box.
I have been waiting for for a week, for a pattern to make some scrubs. I had a message last Friday to say that it had shipped.... still no pattern, I know that postal deliveries have been all over the place, but hopefully it will come today! I have fabric ready to cut and some specifically ordered should be here in a day or so!
Fingers crossed it all comes soon!

Christmas Craft Creations

I have recently joined the Design Team at
Christmas Craft  Creations.
I really enjoy making Christmas cards and it's great not to have the mad dash just before mailing deadlines, making last minute cards when December arrives.
This is my first creation for them!
The theme is to Use a Stamp
I used a bunch of stamps in fact. Santa is from MFT, the tree from an Impression Obsession stamp which has 5 trees on it and the sentiment from Mama Elephant. I divided
the front panel into two with a double pierced die and embossed the top half with an EF called Snow, from Sheena Douglass. I love this folder and have tried several times to get one for a friend, but it seems to be discontinued.
I do hope you'll join in with this fun challenge!

CAS Christmas - Santa Claus is coming to town or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ... (because of the sentiment)

Poppy?

Poppies are a symbol of remembrance!
I don't really think that this flower die is supposed to be a poppy but I thought it looked poppy shaped, so I coloured it appropriately with Distress inks. I cut it first with a larger circle die, but it seemed to overpower the size of the card base, so I re-cut it with the next size down. Although the die cut practically fills the circle, I still prefer the proportions of it on the card.
It's another beautiful day, we had a lovely walk through the local pathways for our daily exercise and now it's nearly time for preprandials!
Cheers!
