Starting the year with a flourish

Week 258 at Less is More is One Layer time again and this time the theme is to use a Flourish!
This card uses stamps from Happy Little Stampers (the script stamps) and Stamplorations (the flourishes).
I embossed the rectangle with a Spellbinders die and the stamped within the masked area. All the stamping was heat embossed with either clear (the black) or white embossing powder.
Here I masked off the left hand panel with Post it notes and stamped the flourish stamps from Stamplorations using Versamark. I then sprinkled a variety of embossing powders over the ink (without shaking off the excess between additions). I used a glitter gold, a platinum  and a deep blue. It's a bit of a wasteful way of using powders as once mixed they are pretty useless and have to be thrown away, but if you have a colour that you're not particularly keen on, you can mix it with other colours and get some extra mileage from it.
This is also for the SIMPLE challenge at CASology

  1. Wow your Kraft card is stunning - I love the idea of heat embossing the stamping it makes the images so clear and well defined, just brilliant! I love the second card too and need more coloured embossing powders to try out this technique.

  8. Both designs are totally stunning as usual Chrissie. What a creative force you are! Well, great minds think alike (not that mine is great) but I had no idea we had both made cards in same colour scheme until I popped on here. Ha ha, it is good to be back. Sharon xx

  9. both cards are super but i am particularly partial to your kraft card one. that is just stunning. with regards to the mixed embossing powders, i wouldn't throw them away but keep them in a separate container. they will give a distressed look when used as a mixture. hope that makes sense, xx
