I really hope that this year I will have made enough Christmas cards to send to our friends without a mad making session at the last moment.
At Less is More we have had a few challenges which had a Christmas slant to them to allow everyone the chance to make Christmas versions should they wish to. This week however is a little more difficult to get away from Christmas as the challenge is entitled Jingle all the way.
For the first two cards, I simply Googled 'Santa's sleigh' and found a downloadable, printable image. As this one was reasonably long I decided to make two cards from the one image.
The bells are from Memory Box and the sentiment cut with a Sizzix die, using white card which I coloured to match the image using a Spectrum Noir pen.
The frame was cut with a Sizzix Framelit square.
Here are the other reindeer! This time the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
A little Docrafts Rudolph, embossed in gold and coloured with Mirage PEns.The embossing is also from a little Docrafts border folder.
The sentiment is from Sizzix again.
This is the last example for this week, which I popped on the Less is More Blog. Details are there!
I shall be singing in a performance of The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins this evening in Portsmouth. It's to be synchronised with a film specially produced for the purpose, with footage from many conflicts over the years beginning with World War I. I think it should be very moving!
Fabulous cards, Chrissie. Great idea to split the large image - I love the anticipation created by just the reindeers on the second card! Brilliant.

Another spectacular set of Christmas cards Chrissie ... you are really going for it each week! Can't keep up with your numbers. Love them all especially the LIM one with all the intricate detail and overlapping dies. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the show tonight and hope all goes well.
Thanks for the shout-out on the blog ... must just finish off a couple of comments from last week!!!

Fantastic selection again, Chrissie. I love the earthy colours on the first two and a great idea to split that image. Have a wonderful time tonight x
ReplyDeleteFour FABULOUS cards, Chrissie. All of them are gorgeous. I especially like the second card using just the leading deer left over from the Santa's sleigh image. Of course the first card with Santa on it is wonderful too but I really like the anticipation you have created in the second card. I feel if I stare at it long enough, the deer might fly by and Santa and his sleigh will come into view. As for your fourth creation...LOVE it! And I suspect I am going to CASE it and credit you with the inspiration of course! Hugs, Lesley
ReplyDelete...and good luck in your performance tonight. It does sound very moving.

ReplyDeleteStunning cards, Chrissie! Love that 'jingle' die cut - a lovely font. You are so clever to use the image over two cards and keep to a muted colour scheme - they are so striking!
