At "Less is More" this week the theme is to use the Kissing Technique! It's some time since I did this but it can be quite fun.
To achieve this you need two contrasting stamps, one solid and one with a fairly intricate design. Both stamps are inked up (the solid one in a lighter shade) and then the two stamps 'kiss each other'! That in fact means stamping one onto the other, then the solid one is stamped onto the card.
Here I used a Stampin' Up solid heart and a script stamp from HLS. I inked the heart with Ranger Pink Gumball and the script stamp with Ranger Classic Cherry dye inks. The heart was stamped onto the script stamp and then onto card. The only problem with using something like a script stamp is that when printed it appears as a mirror image, but as this writing is so tiny I didn't think it mattered too much!
The sentiment is from Mama Elephant and the background embossing from Stampin' Up.
Here is another heart, this time with a Stamplorations flourish stamped onto it! After stamping the 'kissed' heart, it was cut out and twinkled with Glamour Dust then popped on dimensional pads on the Sizzix swirl together with the All Occasion Dies leaves. The sentiment I believe is from Tattered Lace.
Beautifully done Chrissie and love how you've taken the kissing technique on a romantic theme too! Exquisite die cuts on that second one too. Love it! Have a fabulous week. Sarah x

Gorgeous cards, one of my favourite techniques, Jo x
ReplyDeletelovely cards - don't remember to use that technique often enough and the results are so pretty in your cards - really love the second card.
ReplyDeleteNew technique to me so thank you for the instructions Love both cards. Both cards are so very pretty and so crisp. The first one is set off beautifully with the dimensional embossed square behind the three hearts. The second card is so romantic and so creative. Always up for a new technique, so thank you for the inspiration x
ReplyDeletethese are both gorgeous, I love how you have created the panel behind the pink hearts. i have not used this technique for ages since I did a technique class, thanks for the inspiration xx
ReplyDeleteLove both your cards Chrissie. I've been planning to do this technique for a long time but never had the time. Maybe this is the opportunity for me. Hugs, Veerle
ReplyDeleteI love this Chrissie. I have one of those swirl dies and I struggle with how to use it. Now I have a bit of inspiration. I think the blue is quite lovely rather than the traditional red or pink heart color. I'll be back to play soon.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful heartcards! Love the second for the diecuts...they make a such beautiful layers! Have a colourful week!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are wonderful - I do like the second one the best!

ReplyDeleteThey are both wonderful cards, Chrissie, but I LOVE the blue one, I just want to touch it!
ReplyDeleteOnly a week late but got here eventually! lol
ReplyDeleteThe embossed panel and die cuts are great little backdrops for your hearts. And the kissing looks great on both of these. Both are gorgeously crisp too xx
