This is our card for his birthday! The challenge at Just Us Girls this week is perfect! It is to make an Apron Card! A template was available but I chose to make my own, but used the principle from the website.
Other challenges include ABC Challenge, which this week is X - Xtra Dimension... the detachable tag and glove!
Also Charismz Cardz - To make a project for a guy!
I cut the length of card and made the armhole shapes with a Quickutz straight sided oval die. I used the same one to make the pocket by cutting the die-cut in half.
The spatula was made from a peel off and I made an oven glove the same way but it somehow got lost... goodness knows where it has landed up. So I made another from a piece of DP mounted on card.
The sentiment tag and the name on the pinny were made on the computer.
I'm really rather pleased with it.
Thanks you J.U.G.s
I found the oven glove which I had made with a peel off... it had dropped into my slipper and fell out when I went to have a shower before going out this evening!
Chrissie this is awesome...he is going to love the card and the barbecue too! What a fabulous apron card...I love the paper that you used with the oven mitts....AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteWOW Chrissie! This is fabulous! Your son will love it - I really love the striped paper - really wonderful masculine card. The oven mitt is too perfect! Great job and thanks for playing along with Just Us Girls this week!
ReplyDeleteThis is fab Chrissie. The striped paper is perfect. I have a son called David too but he can't cook to save his life and wouldn't know a spatula if it hit him over the head! xx
ReplyDeleteReally great take on the challenge! I love the extras hanging and in the pocket!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of making an invitation explain what the party is about without having to actually write it! Awesome job! The ribbon and stitching is so adorable and yet so manly too!!
ReplyDeleteCHrissie this is total fabulousness! I love the apron card for your son - it will be the PERFECT card for his wonderful BD gift. Laughed about the missing oven glove :-) Thanks for playing along with JUGS this week. We appreciate your participation!
ReplyDeleteFab card Chrissie, and a great gift. We have a samll gas barbie and it really helps - it means we sit outside after a days work and eat simple but delicious stuff - lamb chops and salad - 5 mins of prep, no slouching in chairs feeling rotten...they'll love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Love the paper and what a godsend the peeloff in the slipper was!!!!

Hahaha!!! Funny story about the glove in your slipper! Love this card. It reminds me of a cooking show called The Frugal Gourmet, where the cook wore an apron in this pattern! I have one like it too! So glad we were able to provide the inspiration for you son's great birthday gift! Thanks for playing with Just Us Girls!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Chrissis, so apt :-)
