Today is a very special WOYWW as it's the 600th occasion on which such desks have been shared.
Congratulations to Julia, for her idea, time and care taken in spreading comradeship throughout the world... and thank you!
Head over to the Stamping Ground otherwise known as WOYWW HQ to join in the celebrations!
Well done Julia and I hope you enjoy your surprises co-ordinated by the fabulous LLJ!
I have actually had a bit of a tidy up, which is a rare occurrence for me. I can actually see a bit of my glass mat!
Today you can see the Christmas cards I made for my husband (who is the chairman of our choir) to send to the Vice-Presidents of the society. These include, the Bishop of Portsmouth, the previous conductor Jonathan Willcocks and and long serving previous Chairman, who happens to be a woman. Every year I have made white on white cards and this is no exception.
You can see that my supply of Distress Oxide inks is gradually increasing. I stamp a little of each colour that I have onto a chart to use as reference for whenever I need to choose a shade for whatever project. There is also a new pack of dies which I have just bought. They are empty leaves from Sizzix and I think they are really fab!
I somehow managed to miss last week's WOYWW, I didn't actually remember until Thursday, but in these strange times it's difficult to remember what day it is sometimes! Some people asked to see some more of my attempts at watercolours, well here is a salmon I did on my cruise From Japan to Canada.
At least it looks like a fish!
Well have a good day everyone and once more many thanks to Julia!
Happy 600! That’s a really lovely card perfect for the celebrations today! Wow, that watercolour of the fish is amazing - it actually looks 3D on the page. The colours and shading are spot on!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely day xx

I wonder if your husband even eclipses what an incredible card make you are, after all, he probably has nothing to compare to, and takes your stunning work for granted! I love the cut out leaves, so effective in your hands. Wally enjoyed the glimpse of glass mat, almost a tease to those
ReplyDeleteWho need things to be tidy!
Happy woyww love the card and like the idea of white on white too . I'd just get them mucky! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteWhat a stylish and gorgeous card, I love that rich green background, but I have to say the white on white cards are stunning - I do love working with white. The watercolour is beautiful too, what a multi talented lady you are.
ReplyDeleteHappy 600th Anniversary,

Had trouble posting a comment earlier, and so in a rage, I didn’t read my third attempt....hence all the mistakes. For ‘eclipses’ read ‘realises’ and for ‘Wally’, read ‘really’. Good grief.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Thank You card and stunning cards for the choir. You have a real gift. I also enjoyed seeing your desk and all the goodies on it. You sure have everything at arm's reach. Happy 600th from #6.

Wow your fishy painting is really good! I'm slowly collecting , its gone from 4 to twelve since I've been back to crafting. They'd been in the attic and still worked. But I needed more colours! Have a fabulous week. Happy 600th WOYWW!> Stay safe! ((Lyn))#18

Super card for WOYWW complete with the wooden stand! I like your desk set-up with that magnetic board for your dies - looks like a great idea for dies that you use on a regular basis. Also the colour chart! Happy #600 and thanks for your visit! xx zsuzsa #34
ReplyDeleteForgot the painting! I would never be able to paint like that! Looks really cool!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Chrissie, what absolutely fabulous csrds... Love the "Thank you" one for WOYWW (I'd love to know how you got that really cool shadow effect) and the white-on-white ones made me positively drool... the choir people are going to love those.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments and I've put you on the list for the draw! I hope you can encourage your hubby to make some rye/pumpernickel breads for you! Sooo tasty.
Happy WOYWW 600,
Shoshi x #29
Thanks for your kind words Shoshi!
DeleteMy card has the appearance of shadows because I mounted the front panel on little dimensional pads, so there is a gap between the die cuts and the base layer. It makes it look as though the sentiment is floating!
Love those thank you cards Chrissie and the water colouring is superb. Looking forward to Saturday if my laptop is up to it. Stay safe and happy 600th WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteHappy 600th WOYWW, lovely cards and a great fish ! Angela #42
