Monochrome Music

Here is a quick card for a musical friend... all die cuts and dry embossing. It follows the sketch from CASe this Sketch. The sketch itself is not terribly CAS perse but I tried to make it as simple as possible, by keeping a monochrome pallete, using lots of white and allowing the embossing to provide the stripes.
The embossing folders are from Couture Creations, and the guitar from All Occasion Dies.
I believe that the sentiment is from an old set of Tattered Lace dies.

Male Room

For some time I've been pondering what card to make for a dear friend of ours whose birthday is fast approaching! When I saw the challenge at the Male Room  which is to use an unexpected item on a card.... this idea popped into my head.
If I don't make lists, then lots of things get forgotten or overlooked and the card for Geoff has been on a list on my desk for a while.
I typed out this list on the computer and cut out the paper pad sheet with what I believe is a Marianne die. The Happy is from Creative Dies from Craft Essentials and the  BIRTHDAY is from Cutplorations. I pinched the paper clip from my husband's drawer!
I'm off to see the Hygienist at the dentist in about half an hour! Yuk!

Rainbow unicorn

Here is a card for a couple of challenges!
I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

...and the Theme from CAS on SUNDAY/Friday...
which is to use a TAG!
The unicorn is an image from Jane's Doodles, mounted on a backdrop made from strips of coloured card. The sentiment is from Stamplorations.
Quite a change in the weather today...we have some much needed rain and the temperature is much cooler, but my back is feeling a little rheumatic; old age has a lot to answer for!
This is also for the challenge at Seize the Birthday with the topping 'Stripes'!

Photo Inspiration

The challenge at Just US Girls this week is to use this picture as inspiration!
I used the colour and the fact that there is a large flower predominating the picture.
I used a die from Memory Box, colouring in the insets with alcohol markers and
layering up the outline die. I added some micro beads to the centre of the flower and covered the petals with Glossy Accents.
The flower was mounted on a stitched die cut base layer, using dimensional pads. A simple sentiment from Lilli of the Valley stamped in a complementary shade of ink completed the card.

Over the Rainbow

A little masking, a little daubing with Distress Inks and hey presto a rainbow. The cute little unicorn is from Jane's Doodles, coloured with alcohol markers and twinkled with Glamour dust.
It's for the challenge at AAA Cards
It looks a little as though he's flying over the rainbow.. there is a rainbow stamp in the set, but I didn't want to go over the top of CASness!

Coloured die cut

The challenge at CAS Mix Up this time is to colour a die cut!
For this card I used an embossed die and cut from a piece of gold mirror card. I then dropped various shades of alcohol ink onto it, a little blending solution and kind of left it to see what happened.
When dry, I over-stamped it with a small script stamp and thought it might need fixing to stop the colours from coming off. I used some hairspray which made the over-stamping go a little muzzy, but I didn't mind the effect.
I simply cut a piece of hessian to use as a mount and added a Penny Black die cut sentiment cut from kraft card.

Another Christmas Card

This dear little image from a Day for Daisies has long been a favourite of mine.It has been gently shaded with Promarkers and given a little Glamour Dust to the top of the stocking. The sentiment was computer generated straight onto the card and the dry embossed snowflakes were effected from a Freebie folder from a magazine. The image was cut out and popped onto dimensional pads.
I used a few challenges as inspiration for this simple card.
The sketch from Case this Sketch
The subject matter from Addicted to CAS

CAS is the theme at Addicted to Stamps and More so it's for that too, I trust that a digital image still counts as a stamp!
AAA Cards has Christmas in July so it's for that too!

Santa

I love this jolly Santa suit image from Hero Arts. There is a cute hat and a pair of boots in the set too; they have been in my drawer for some years but make me smile each time they surface! They may possibly be retired, but I think I'll be using them for some time to come.
The image was simply coloured with alcohol markers, cut out and mounted on dimensional pads with a little twinkle added to the fur sections.
The die cut sentiment (Be) and wonky stitched panel are from  Craft Essentials and (Merry) from Sizzix. This background panel die fits UK dimension cards, which is really handy as you can't extend wonky stitched dies easily!

I am hoping that by the time December comes around this year, I won't  have the usual marathon sessions of trying to get enough cards made to send out to my friends. Maybe you could join us in this challenge each month and save yourself the same pressure!

It's time for another Clean and Simple challenge at Happy Little Stampers!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

For this card I used an image and I LOVE YOU sentiment from Mama Elephant adding the bit about 'to the moon and back' with the computer.
I coloured the bears with Promarkers, cut them out and popped the image onto dimensional pads.
I stamped a couple of hearts and the moon from the same set and twinkled the latter gently with some Glamour Dust, also popping it onto 3d pads.
