I love making this type of card. Getting inky is such fun.
I masked a section of card, stamped the flowers in Versamark and then clear embossed. then the other inly colours were added and finally another image stamped in the deepest colour.
I added a few tiny bubble stamps here and there to add a little interest.
I'm not sure that zentangling is for me really... this is my second attempt, the first card was ruined by a smudged sentiment, although I thought that the patterns were slightly better in that one. At the NEC yesterday, I saw that you could buy books on how to zentangle, I felt that I really wasn't very inventive with my patterns, maybe I could do with a few lessons!
I hope to show you a pic of my haul from the show yesterday when I've unpacked it and been reminded of what I bought!
You'll need a wide-angled camera for your haul lol! :). What a fun day, thanks so much for your company
ReplyDeleteLove the warm colours on that inked card and your zentangle looks very professional and stylish.

You're such a great teacher, Chrissie! I love that little tip about adding the bubbles for interest ~ thank you! It's a really stunning masked card!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought your zentangle flowers AND that sediment were stamped images, so I'd say you are too hard on yourself! I'm in awe! Hugs, Darnell
I love both of these cards. I would like to master zentangle but not all of my doodles seem to fit the bill!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I was unable to make it to the NEC sounds like you had fun spending!

I LOVE both of your cards. I feel very much the same about my own attempts at zentangling .... wonder if there are any youtube vids to watch ....

I love your masked card with all the beautiful shading and that you added those great bubbles! I also think your Zentagling is pretty fabulous, too! It's a fun pattern and I love that you kept it monochromatic! You've inspired me to check it out...thanks, Chrissie!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards Chrissie, love the colours in the first and the technique you've used. I too thought your second card was a patterned stamp so your tangling looks fab! Cathy x
ReplyDeleteChrissie, I´m so in love with the first card! It´s one of the most beautiful One-Layer-Cards I´ve ever seen! Thanks for sharing!

Two fantastic cards Chrissie & I think your Zentangle is great. I just cannot stop doing them & it doesn't have to be patterns you have found in book - just relax & doodle.
ReplyDeleteLove both beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, love the inky one, what a gorgeous scene you have created Chrissie
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards. I love the first one with the gradient background and while silhouettes.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been lovely to meet you at the NEC Chrissie. I hope you enjoyed it, I know I had a great time and bought loads of lovely stash.
ReplyDeleteBoth your cards are fab. I love the masking technique too. Your attempt a Zentagle is fabulous. I have been tempted to have a go at this too. It looks so impressive. I somehow missed the Zentangle stall at the NEC (probably a good thing as I spent quite enought as it was). Keep it up. Sue.x
Chrissie, I have so little time to craft these days, but I am always watching. This card is so gorgeous it made me gasp. Incredibly beautiful. Love your inking. Love the dimension, masking... just perfection. Love it. Hope you are well.
