Here are a couple of cards for Darnell's Twofer Challenge, which this time is leaves!
I chose to use a sycamore leaf die for both cards, adding smaller one for the first card, both cut from gold card and coloured with dye ink then sprayed with hair spray to fix.
I used the sketch from CASe this Sketch
I used a square stitched die to cut the aperture... extending it slightly to make more of a rectangular shape and adding a little burlap in the space. The sentiment is a die from Clearly Besotted.
For the second card I did a partial diecut with the die, adding an embossed image and a a completely cut out leaf popped onto dimensional pads.
I chose the Big Hugs sentiment die for the challenge at CASology which is heal.
I went out and bought a rug runner this morning to cover the splodges on the carpet in my craft room where I knocked off a pot of black ink . I was trying some acrylic pouring. Now I just need to do something about the splats on the ceiling! (Fortunately the ink washed out of my sweater!)
Chrissie, these are both spectacular designs! I love how the gold and burlap play together so nicely and how perfect they are for fall texture! (I'm predicting a CTS win for this unique beauty!) And I love the shape and partial die-cutting of your second card with the rich big hugs sediment! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeletep.s. Forgot to say sorry about your exuberant accident in the craft room! Glad it came out of your sweater! xxoo
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Chrissie. I have to confess that acrylic pouring sounds just a little too messy, especially as I have a brand new craft room
ReplyDeleteLove fall cards and hugs too. Thanks for playing along on the CASology Challenge blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Chrissie, such an array of fabulous card designs! Simply love'em all!! The card with hugs sentiment in gold is a lovely take on the cue word - "heal". Love the embossed leaves. Thank you for playing along with us at CASology this week. By the way, i am really intrigued by acrylic pouring. Happy crafting & hugs - Bharati
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, Chrissie! The leaves you've created are stunning. I may have to try that technique, and I remember 'setting' paints and such with hairspray from years ago...just forgot all about it! The burlap adds a beautiful contrasting texture to your first card, too. And your second card is CASimply lovely. The die cutting techniques and the embossed leaf add so much to this pretty card. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
