Twofer

At last I have managed to join in with Darnell's new Twofer challenge and must admit that I found taking a picture of two cards together somewhat difficult, but this is the best I could do.
My item which I used on both cards was the large heart die from a set from Little B.
For the first I used simply the whole heart and cut the Memory Box elephant from it, adding the 'welcome' sentiment from Paper Smooches. The backdrop was embossed with an EF from Creative Expressions.
For the second card I used part of the heart diecut upside down as the top panel of the card. This time adding the peacock which was a mag freebie and the sentiment from Hero Arts. I don't think it's really cheating to use just part of the heart, but this particular die is so large it's good to be able to use it in a different way!

  1. Fabulous cards, Chrissie! Took me a moment to work out where the second heart was hiding. Superb, Jo x

  2. Oh, how absolutely beautiful and wonderfully creative! Each card is just gorgeous in its own right, so nicely done. Darling, sweet baby card, and I absolutely LOVE the peacock die. Some of the best dies, stamps, and embossing folders I've seen have been magazine freebies. After seeing these cards I had to take a look at others on your blog. I love your CAS style!

  3. These are so exquisite, Chrissie! The baby card should be framed for the baby's nursery! It is soft and textured and FUN with that ellie cutout with the ear and eye! It brings a huge smile! And wow, I love your w-o-w thank you card! Like Jo, it took minute a minute to find the heart! It made a beautiful perch for the partridge! And I can't very well tell you that you can't use an off-set heart when that's what I did for my DT card, lol!! Thank you so much for playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #2!! Hugs, Darnell

p.s. Sorry you had trouble with the photo. Every bit of both cards doesn't have to be in the gallery linkup photo. We still visit each blog individually for commenting, but when it comes time to reviewing the entries to narrow them down and choose the winners two weeks later (especially when there are a lot of entries), it's nice to be able to see at a glance that two cards were made and that they are two different designs for two different occasions. Everyone can also show the individual photos of their pretty cards on their posts so they can be seen in their full glory. xxoo

Love the embossing folder you've used here, and how you've added the ear back. So darn cute!! I do love what you've done with your second card. The heart is the perfect perch for that incredible peacock! Love the white on white look. Two great cards. Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
