I am so thrilled to have been asked to join the team at Happy Little Stampers.
The focus this month is on Stamping.
For my card, I stamped this huge Indigo Blu butterfly with Versamark and embossed it with WOW Dusky Woodland powder.
I water-coloured it with Distress inks adding some Gold and Clear Wink of Stella.
The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I tried embossing it with the WOW powder but because of the predominance of glitter in the mix the sentiment was indistinct, so I decided to stamp it in black Memento ink and quickly added some Heat it Up Enchanted gold over it, then heat embossed. It meant that the sentiment was clearly printed and yet the looks of it tied in with the butterfly.
The front panel was cut with a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle, extending it slightly to fit the UK dimension card base.
WOW! What a gorgeous treatment on that fabulous butterfly Chrissie! Gorgeous design! Hazel xx

ReplyDeleteThe butterfly is stunning. I really like how you stamped off the edge and the lovely embossing powder and colouring.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing card Chrissie - just jaw dropping! Congratulations on being asked to join HLS - all lovely ladies and so talented. When you mentioned about stamping the sentiment in black Memento ink and quickly adding e/p, a tip that I use is to ink my stamp with Versamark before stamping the black (or whatever colour) this way you get Versamark ink on the top of the stamped image and it gives you longer to put on your e/p.
ReplyDeleteHugs.

ReplyDeleteLove this big bold butterfly, Chrissie, and how perfect in brown and gold. We always reach for bright colours but we have plenty of brown butterflies here! And a great tip about extending your die cut, it's frustrating that most rectangle dies aren't the right scale for UK card sizes x
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, Chrissie! Love the embossed butterfly (dusky woodland - must try that) and the way you have added colour and richness. Great to see you at HLS :)
