For the colours this week at "Less is More", we have chosen something really seasonal, namely Red & Green.
In fact the card which I posted yesterday, which was my final contribution as Guest Designer for Lili of the Valley would fit into this category too, scroll down if you'd like to take a peek at that one, I kinda liked the way it turned out!
But onto my samples for this week!
I couldn't decide which I preferred of these two incarnations. It's a bit like 'Spot the difference' isn;t it!
This one was inspired by a LIM submission by Jenny last week, she added 'all the way', but I simply used the bells to complete the phrase!
This uses a free border embossing folder from a magazine and some Sizzix die cut letters. The holly leaves are from an X Cut punch.
Thanks for the inspiration Jenny!
I love this little Tim Holtz stamp. I coloured it with a couple of shades of green SU Marker pens, plus the deep red for the berries. It's stamped on the reverse side of some scrap of the hammered card I cut the card blank from. I really like the difference in texture and it makes for a clearer image to use the flat side of the card. Surrounded by a larger embossed square and popped onto dimensional pads, I like the way it stands out.
It's a bit scary that it's now December... I haven't made all my Chrimbo cards yet... I'd better get my skates on!
great samples this week - I love the mistletoe with noel best i think.

Great christmas cards - love the top two with the deep red panel!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Chrissie! Love the different borders you chose for the same style card. I like to experiment too....
ReplyDeleteA great challenge this week Chrissie, must get some cards posted myself! Have just come back form diving in the Red Sea so not had the chance to contribute yet. Hope to do so later in the week when the washing is done. I love your examples with the mistletoe but my favourite is the simple holly branch. very LIM.
ReplyDeleteI should imagine it'll be a popular week this week with everyone scrambling to finish (or start!) their Christmas cards. These are lovely - and I agree about the subtle difference in texture on that last one. Gorgeous! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteA perfect timely challenge, Chrissie. Your cards are brilliant, as ever! My "Awww" one is the square with the little tiny holly stamp. I agree, I love the dimension it has putting the image on the smooth side and popping it up against the hammered side. (I must be hammered. What I've written makes sense and contains no graphitopical errors. Oh, wait, there ya go!!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful examples you show us again Chrissie! The card at the top right with the mistletoe is my favorite! But the very LIM at the bottom pleases me also well!
