God save the Queen!
Today is the anniversary of the Queen's coronation.. a day I remember fairly well, considering the number of years ago it was... in 1953. Half the street was crammed into our sitting room around a tiny black and white tv, (which was the envy of the neighbours) in order to watch the ceremony.
There will be celebrations countrywide over the coming weekend. I hope everyone has a brilliant time!
The challenge at "Less is More" is a colour challenge this week and so naturally the shades of choice are Red, White and Blue!
This one uses a Memory Box die mounted over a computer generated band using the Maya Tiles font.
Father's Day will be here soon and so this simple greeting might suit some unfussy father! The die cut letters are from a Dienamics alphabet. The base card was embossed with an SU embossing folder.
This card uses a a sentiment from Stampotique, the sponsor of LIM challenges for this month. It's great isn't it. The lips are part of a stamp from MSE which I decided to cut up as I thought the lips would be more useful on their own.
We have our grandson with us at the moment as his sister was a flower girl at her godfather's wedding yesterday. My daughter didn't want a 15month old wrecking the proceedings!
Here she is in her finery!
Have a wonderful weekend!
The card with the kissing lips brought a smile to my morning face. Clean and simple, and really fun! That sentiment makes it for me!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you chose this theme. Fab cards & great photo of your grandaughter. I agree with your daughter. I took my youngest to a wedding and all you could here on the wedding video was Adam stamping his feet on the wooden floor. He was only playing lol!

I have to agree with the others on the first card. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 1953 TV event, my dad rented a set so we could follow the festivities and the coronation.
The royal couple visited Montreal and I had just been picked up from hospital, having had my tonsils out. It was a cold day and a policeman put me right up front by the barrier and I was within inches of seeing them and waving.
She gave me the loveliest smile as they drove by. I kept a scrapbook during my recuperation. I do wish I had it now.
Fabulous cards Chrissie, can't choose a favourite although its between the butterfly and the Dad one.

ReplyDeleteSeeing your "mwah" card reminds me that I have some "lips" somewhere...now where did I store them!?! I love that butterfly card too. I never think to use my dingbats on a card...very cool idea! Super cards this week Chrissie!
ReplyDeleteHad to come back and make a comment about our "age". For years when I was in my 20-30s my friends always seems to be 10-12 years older than me. Now that I'm in my 60s, it seems that all our friends are younger than we are...and always call me the "old" person! All in fun of course, but it always gives me a smile when I realize that I'm NOT the oldest in the group! Although some say that age means wisdom...we'll go with that!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards again Chrissie, the first is my fav this week I think. What a beautiful granddaughter you have too :) Viv xx
ReplyDeleteFab cards Chrissie & I like the lips one best. The little flower girl looks adorable & such a sweet smile.

ReplyDeleteHello Chrissie,
ReplyDeleteyour cards are, how could it be otherwise, all wonderful! Especially the Dad-card is very original! So simple but so effective ...
For me this was the most difficult challenge! No idea what I could do. I have seen many beautiful examples, but I wanted to make something of my own imagination.
And it was truly not easy!!
