365 Cards Ad Inspired & Pile it On #9 At least 3 flowers
You wouldn't believe how long it has taken me to make this card.
I find Ad inspired challenges just that...a challenge! I have a bucket full of things I'd started and discarded in dissatisfaction.
The chipboard flowerpot on this card has had several incarnations. First it was painted, (not happy) then heat embossed,(not happy) then overstamped,(not happy) then covered with card and heat embossed again (not happy)and over stamped again(still not happy). So another piece of card went on top of that lot, I sanded the edges and left it at that.
I have got some fab Stampin Up tulip stamps, but Gloria used some of those on her DT card, so I didn't want to copy that idea. I've got a botanical tulip stamp, but my colouring was dreadful on that! I tried 2 other flower stamps before using this Stampabilities tulip stamp, by which time I was cross-eyed and practically hairless!
So folks, this has got to do!
What an ordeal! Despite your efforts, or perhaps because of them, the result is quite lovely. It's charming!
ReplyDeleteI just saw your comment on my post... thanks Chrissie!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's definitely the time zone thing...tomorrow's challenge is posted at 9pm here on the west coast of N America....and since I didn't have to work today (yay!) I could stay up and complete the challenge early. :)
My grandpa used to say "doesn't matter how you get there as long as you arrive in one piece"! I think you arrived and your card --despite the detours-- is in one beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteGood thing the card turned out so fab after all work you've put down to it!
ReplyDeletebless you, so frustrating when it doesn't work frst time let alone second, third, fourth....
ReplyDeleteLooking at the little photo you've done a grand job of the challenge.
