Colour Create Lemon, Sherbet Pink & Chocolate & Card Patterns Sketch 16
Oh Dear!
This looks really rather sad.
The colours I chose for this week's Colour Create Challenge probably aren't quite what were intended and they look rather drab. I was trying to think 'Shabby Chic' (for the additional element), and I'm afraid that it has turned out more shabby than chic.
I even got out a sewing machine to do some 'real' sewing... should have stuck to the faux I think, at least I can do that in straight lines.
I paper pieced the flower and then embossed it and stamped the sentiment directly onto the card.
I'm afraid that I haven't done justice to the sketch from Card Patterns either..........
Still there's always tomorrow!
Chrissie
I think it came out great!
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really like it Chrissie it is not drab in the slightest. It works perfectly for shabby chic to. Hugs Pascale
ReplyDeleteI love it. DOn't be too down on yourself. It looks great. The sewing is super too. I like how you used more lemon as I went more for the pinks. Hazelxox
ReplyDeleteDon't knock it, I think it's great. We must be linked today, I put mine on as more shabby than chic too! I think it's the colour combo.
ReplyDeleteStitching looks more shabby chic we#hen it's not straight and you could always pretend you had a G&T before you started!

wow love your card Chrissy, I love your use of the colours...thanks for joining in with the Colour Create challenge xxx
ReplyDeleteYour card is fab Chrissie. I think the shades you chose are subtle (not drab) and as for not sewing in straight lines - well that certainly is shabby chic in my book. Your work in this card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Colour Create Challenge.

Beautiful card! You found a great yellow tone! Hugs Nilla
ReplyDeleteI like it! You've worked those colours beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI think its great too.
ReplyDeleteYou asked the font on my Melıke card-sorry you can't use on Cuttlebug. It was a font on my computer, and I cut it using my Silhouette. The font is called words of love, and can be found on Font freak.
Keep Crafting and thanks for the comment on my blog.
Not drab at all, it's a very pretty card, but of course it's all down to individual taste :o)

I don't think it is sad at all! Before I read your post I was looking at your card and thought, "Oh, a shabby chic card!" I love yellow this time of year, and all things ***Chrissie***, so my opinion is biased :)
ReplyDeletelike these color combos! very nice!
