Can you believe that Less is More has reached its 6th Birthday?
I am so proud of the way my challenge has developed over the years and am simply delighted that I have been able to hand it over to such an awesome team... which is taking it forward to its next fabulous phase. They are such a terrific, talented bunch of girls and I simply love the work of them all!
The challenge for this birthday week is a colour challenge and it's to use 3 adjacent colours on the colour wheel.
For this card I smooshed some Platinum Inka Gold together with some Aqua Tints in red and yellow and after spritzing with water, took prints to use for the sentiment and as backing for the die cut heart border. The word 'simply' was computer generated.
It's basically what I think of this fabulous team!
We have just returned from a lovely winter break in Florida and the Caribbean. The weather in Florida this year was unseasonably warm, the temperature was in the 80's each day and we had a wonderful time. The cruise to the Caribbean was equally beautiful and the the seas allowed us to visit the island of Great Stirrup Cay which is a private island belonging to the Norwegian Cruise Line in the Bahamas. Last year the weather was too rough to allow the tenders to come alongside the ship in order to take us ashore.
This is me at Mountain Top on St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands last week. It was spectacular!
It's because we're taking lots of lovely vacations plus my Granny duties in Worthing and Bath that I have stepped back from Less is More on a weekly basis, but I do hope to join in from time to time!,
Hey Chrissie, I'm so thrilled that you added your card which is FAB-U-LOUS and full of exciting and clever techniques. So eye-catching and thanks for the thoughtfulness of the design and lovely words you added to the blog - it's all down to you for maintaining such an awesome challenge! I didn't want to pester you in case you were suffering holiday withdrawal symptoms (jet lag) but so glad you were able to join us for this special celebration. Catch up soon. Hugs and thanks Sarah x
ReplyDeleteSooo fabulous to have you joining us this week, Chrissie. We've missed you! I adore your card, you have some awesome products in your stash. Thanks so much for your kind words and for inviting me to join this team almost two years ago, I love this challenge and it's down to you for all your hard work over the years that it's still going strong. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like you had a fabulous holiday you cant beat some winter sun. A big thank you for all of your tireless efforts at LIM I remember my first time playing along I was so nervous looking at all of the amazing cards from the DT and all of the gorgeous cards in the gallery. Six years on the first thing I do on a Saturday morning is grab a coffee and see what LIM has in store and I'm never disappointed I can imagine that handing your baby over was a tough decision but you have left in in more than capable hands and I look forward to many years to come of joining in or indeed just marvelling at all of those talented ladies out there in blogland

ReplyDeleteI so love your cards Chrissie and this is no exception. Beautifully CAS but so well designed. Just when I thought I didn't need that heart die and now you have made me think twice!!
ReplyDeleteHi I've just stumbled across you from pinterest. (I don't know how ☺) but wow I'm so glad I did. I've just had a quick look through your art and love what you've done. How do you do a card with little holes in like this one above? It's simply delightful. I'm very new to card making in fact I'm yet to make a card I'm really happy with, so they've gone to some family members who are to nice to say there rubbish lol. My others have gone in the bin. Anyway is there an easy way to follow you or do I do it through 'LIM' which is great as I love that site from now too. Any pointers and tips would be so grateful from little OL Me. X I might even have a go at a couple of challenges this year (fingerscossed) x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words about my cards!
DeleteI'd be glad to give any advice about any of the techniques I use on my cards, you can just email me...there's an email link on my blog, you just have to click on the envelope icon.
The holes on the card were made with a die and a die cutting machine. You can see lots of videos showing how they can be used on You Tube!
I hope this helps!
Thankyou for replying so quickly. I shall look into the you tube videos thanks. WH☺☺P WH☺☺P I've just made my first card that I'm happy with. It for a blue and red challange somewhere lol.(Can't find the challange now lol. I was lucky to find you again!) Is there an easy way to get to your blog? I've saved it as a favorite on my laptop but don't use it much, I preference my mobile.? Thanks again for replying
