Here is a super little digi image from a Day for Daisies, which I have used for the sketch at "Less is More" this week.
Coloured with Promarkers and using some additional Paper Artsy stamps, it's a simple one layer card.
Last week was simply amazing... we aimed for 1000 submissions and remarkably, very nearly made it! The industry of so many LIMettes was truly astonishing!
The stamp Man - Perfect Pear
This one is a reject as it didn't really come off... the idea was there, but the execution of it missed the mark... the colour of the card for the image is too far removed from the kraft card and should have been inked a little I think... but I wanted it to match the ribbon, which is why I left it. I may revisit it later.
This little robin has been recycled from an old Christmas card... there were originally 5 robins on a card and now there are 5 cards with one robin on each!
I commented on nearly 800 cards last week... quite a challenge in itself... but what a wonderful effort from all our loyal LIMettes and some potential new ones.
What super cards - I'm surprised you had time to make anything last week - you must be exhausted with all that commenting!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the one with the pears. And I like the sketch for this week - off to have a think now!
Thanks for hosting such a fun challenge x

Hurrah - found a way to comment - still having the issue with your blog where it "disappears" into a maroon background with no text or pictures in my normal browser (firefox) but in the latest version of ie, I can actually read it, and comment!
ReplyDeleteThe pears are brilliant - I do like the paris one to but perhaps the background card is the wrong colour for the soft grey images and ribbon?

Your fingers must be so sore after all that commenting last week!Well done for nearly getting the 1000. Love your cards this week - the pear is my favourite xx
ReplyDeleteThe pear one is reallt pretty...and so nice that I am not the only one that recycles xmas cards...great use of the little robbin...what great gals you are to make a point of visiting everyone and leaving comments...you both should of had over 700 comments each yourselves!!
ReplyDeleteSwallows a whole week huh, commenting! See you've managed to make time for some lovely card making though - how amazing your time management is!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Chrissie and you girls are amazing with all your commenting last week. I had some more cards almost ready to post for the 1000 challenge but the dreaded cold hit me and was in bed early last night so didn't get the last few posted but still an amazing effort, don't think I have seen any other blog with so many entries. :) xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards to inspire us as always - agree with you that the kraft card is perhaps not the right colour for your "reject" card - look forward to seeing it if and when you do re-visit it.
ReplyDeleteWell done for last week - it was quite a challenge for a blog that isn't even a year old yet. I promise to try and avoid giving you any more "ideas" like that as your own and Mandi's fingers must be suffering from RSI now.
Hi Chrissie, I love the robin cards I have a soft spot for those little birds. What a good way to use recycled cards. Thanx for leaving a comment on my cards for last weeks challenge, I'm amazed to learn that you commented on so many.

I love your cards as I always do, what is nice to hear for me a mere apprentice! that even you, illustrious leader, gets one wrong occasionally. Although it looks good to me, but there what do I know :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my cards I try and learn and think maybe it's getting through on some of my cards.
Well done and Congratulations on last weeks huge achievement, you must be shattered and square eyed.
I'm glad you could reuse that sweet robin. This made a lovely Christmas card. Great digi image too. Thanks for the challenge and tireless comments. You provide so much CAS inspiration for us.

ReplyDeleteCarole
Lovely cards! Great idea to re-purpose Christmas cards! I might have tried a cream or very dark gray background with Eiffel Tower card but I don't think the kraft looks as bad as you seem to think. I know how it feels to just think something is "off" though.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for the monumental job of commenting last week! I can only imagine the hours you spent. I had so much fun seeing how many cards I could manage in a week and you guys caught every single one of them. You two are amazing!
So very cute! The robin image is rightly recycled - not worth throwing away! :) Great cards after that marathon commenting session! Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, love the pears. Off to have a think about the sketch now.
ReplyDeleteSandra

Another great challenge Chrissie and wonderful cards from yourself. Love the splodgy background on the pear card and that recycled robin is fab. I have years worth of christmas and birthday cards stashed away, can't bear to throw any out but maybe I should start recycling them. Thanks again. xx
ReplyDeleteI do love the pear image and I have a real thing about robins but I actually think my favourite is the 'reject' although it's quite hard to see the colours. I cannot believe how many entries you got last week and - just as incredible - that you commented on pretty much all of them! What an incredible challenge site you and Mandi have created! Vx

And thank you for all the commenting that you do. With so many challenge sites the DT hardly does any commenting at all but you and Mandi really go above and beyond and it's part of what makes your site so special. :)
Chrissie, three beautiful cards this week. I really love the corners on the robin card...might need to buy that corner chomper.
