Monochrome Music

Here is a quick card for a musical friend... all die cuts and dry embossing. It follows the sketch from CASe this Sketch. The sketch itself is not terribly CAS perse but I tried to make it as simple as possible, by keeping a monochrome pallete, using lots of white and allowing the embossing to provide the stripes.
The embossing folders are from Couture Creations, and the guitar from All Occasion Dies.
I believe that the sentiment is from an old set of Tattered Lace dies.

Male Room

For some time I've been pondering what card to make for a dear friend of ours whose birthday is fast approaching! When I saw the challenge at the Male Room  which is to use an unexpected item on a card.... this idea popped into my head.
If I don't make lists, then lots of things get forgotten or overlooked and the card for Geoff has been on a list on my desk for a while.
I typed out this list on the computer and cut out the paper pad sheet with what I believe is a Marianne die. The Happy is from Creative Dies from Craft Essentials and the  BIRTHDAY is from Cutplorations. I pinched the paper clip from my husband's drawer!
I'm off to see the Hygienist at the dentist in about half an hour! Yuk!

Rainbow unicorn

Here is a card for a couple of challenges!
I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

...and the Theme from CAS on SUNDAY/Friday...
which is to use a TAG!
The unicorn is an image from Jane's Doodles, mounted on a backdrop made from strips of coloured card. The sentiment is from Stamplorations.
Quite a change in the weather today...we have some much needed rain and the temperature is much cooler, but my back is feeling a little rheumatic; old age has a lot to answer for!
This is also for the challenge at Seize the Birthday with the topping 'Stripes'!

Photo Inspiration

The challenge at Just US Girls this week is to use this picture as inspiration!
I used the colour and the fact that there is a large flower predominating the picture.
I used a die from Memory Box, colouring in the insets with alcohol markers and
layering up the outline die. I added some micro beads to the centre of the flower and covered the petals with Glossy Accents.
The flower was mounted on a stitched die cut base layer, using dimensional pads. A simple sentiment from Lilli of the Valley stamped in a complementary shade of ink completed the card.
